Malegaon blast accused, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh broke down Thursday alleging she was tortured in jail. She slammed Congress to falsely name her in the 2008 bomb blast near a mosque that left seven people dead and injured more than 100 others.

The 49-year-old joined BJP yesterday and immediately after she was named by the party to be fielding from Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency. Opposition parties have condemned accusing BJP to polarizing figure for electoral gains.

Sadhvi Pragya was put behind bars for nine years in the Malegaon bomb blast case and currently is out on bail on health reasons.

She is expected to file her nomination for Bhopal seat on April 23. The city will go into polls on May 12.

Addressing to the media people during press conference in New Delhi she said, “When they took me away illegally, they kept me for 13 days. On the first day itself, they started beating me. When they used to hit me with a belt, the entire nervous system used to go blank. They used to beat me day and night.”

Sadhvi Pragya further added the cops wanted her to accept forcefully to have been linked with Malegaon blast and used to beat her till early hours of morning.

She claimed to have been diagnosed with cancer and the reasons are several narco, polygraph, and brain-mapping tests on her by the investigating authorities.

Sadhvi Pragya was an ABVP activist during her college days and since childhood she was inclined with Hindu right-wing.
