How to Export Chrome Bookmarks

One of Google Chrome’s many valuable features is the ability to bookmark a webpage. Exporting Chrome Bookmarks in Windows OS

STEP 1. First of all, launch your Google Chrome latest version, and then click on the menu icon at the top right corner of the window.

STEP 2. A drop-down menu will appear. Move your cursor down this menu until you get to the bookmarks pull out menu.

STEP 3. Click on it and then scroll down to ‘bookmark manager’. Click on this menu as well. Alternatively, you can access the bookmark menu directly by clicking Ctrl+Shift+O

STEP 4. It will take you to another window where you can see all your bookmarks and bookmark bars. Click on the menu icon directly on the blue banner at the top right hand of this window.

STEP 5. Move your cursor down until you get to ‘export bookmarks’, and then click it. However, if you clicked the menu icon in step 4 and didn’t see the ‘export bookmark’ option, that means you clicked the wrong menu button. You should click the menu button located on the blue ribbon below the menu button of the entire web page.

STEP 6. Clicking on export bookmarks will open a file explorer window. On the file name input, create the name of the folder you want your bookmark to be saved as. After this, you need to pick a location you want the bookmark export to go, then click save.

STEP 7. The file will then be exported to the location chosen. Depending on the size of your bookmark files, this may take a few minutes or a few hours.

Exporting Chrome Bookmarks on Mac

Moving on to exporting bookmarks when using the Google Chrome for Mac, the steps to follow are quick, easy and straight to the point;

STEP 1. launch your Google Chrome browser on your Mac OS, and then click on the ‘more’ at the top right corner of your windows. It may show as the menu icon on your windows.

STEP 2. Scroll down until you see the bookmark menu, click on it. A pop-up menu will appear on your screen.

STEP 3. Scroll to ‘bookmark manager’ and click on it. You will be taken to a new window on the browser.

STEP 4. Click on the menu icon found on this new screen to open the bookmark menu. The icon is found at the top right-hand corner of the screen. Click on it to release a drop-down menu.

STEP 5. On the menu is the ‘Export bookmark’ option. Click on it. This will open a Finder Window on your Mac OS.

STEP 6. Then, enter the name you want to save your export, and select a location then click on save at the bottom right corner of your Finder.

STEP 7. This will save your file in the particular location of your choice.
