The Python Spirit

What is the Python Spirit and is it real? You hear of so many myths and legends, it’s hard to tell what is real and what isn’t these days.  I recently read an article from Charisma Magazine entitled, “What the python spirit really wants” and it really hit home with me in ways you couldn’t even imagine because I’ve seen that spirit.  I get many dreams and visions from the Lord, but I also get attacked in my sleep as well. Not long before my 3 children passed away in 2002 because of lightning hitting our home in the middle of the night as we slept I had a terrible nightmare, which turned out it was a warning dream to me in 2002 of upcoming events, I just didn’t know it at the time. I thought it was just a bad nightmare or night terror, which ever you prefer to call it. I finally logged the dream in my Dream Blog on Sunday, July 14 of 2013 which was years after it happened. I usually logged my dreams in a notebook until I started  the Dream Blog online where I now log dreams and visions that I or my husband receive from the Lord. The dream went like this:

“I had a dream I was walking in a beautiful garden with a golden brick road.  As I was walking I looked over to my right and I seen a very large tree that morphed into two a large 2 headed snake, where the branches became the heads. It started attacking me.  I started running to get away and I seen a door in my dream and tried to escape through there but when I did, several dark wolves began attacking me trying to come through the door. So, there I was…  the giant 2 headed snake striking me on one side, attacking wolves on the other which were biting me and trying to tear me apart. The snake was at least 3 stories tall and I don’t know how many wolves were behind the door but I remember they were forceful trying to get at me through the door and it was hard keeping them out. I finally got into another door and ran into what looked like a work room with shelves of paint. My daughter Harley came in the room standing at least 9 ft. tall and than she grabbed the top of her head and unzips a outfit and she came running from out of the outfit as if she was 7 or 8 years old.”

I woke screaming and shaking from what would be called or referred to as a night terror, I didn’t understand the dream at the time and it was years later before I realized the significance or meaning of the dream and that everything that was shown in my dream actually taken place in my life and you can read about by going HERE. It was God’s love and grace for me that kept me alive. If you’re blessed with the gift to see in the spirit as my husband Robbi Spencer has, than you can see them. It isn’t very often I see them as clearly as my husband. For me it’s usually in dreams or visions. I can’t tell you how many times the Lord has shown him things that were attacking me that he would have to pray and rebuke them off me in Jesus name. Not long after we were first married he was praying for me and he seen a snake that wrapped it’s self around my spine. For those who don’t believe in these types of things, that’s fine. Just remember that just because you may not believe, doesn’t make it any less true.  If you would like to see in the spirit, than ask the Lord to show you or let you experience things in the spirit. Whether yes, no, wait or you’re not ready, the answer depends on what the Lord decides but he will answer you in what’s best for you. The Lord has used my husband to remove layers and layers of pain from before I met my husband.

 In the book of Acts 16:16 is the only place that refers to a python spirit.

“A certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination, met us;” in the Greek text it means, “the spirit of Python”;

What does the Python Spirit’s purpose?  The ultimate purpose or goal of the spirit of Python is to crush and destroy the visions, dreams, and hopes of individual Believers and of the Church.

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? “  Galatians 3:1

 “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law (the Word of God), happy is he.”   Proverbs 29:18 

“ And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,  and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”     Acts 2:17-18 

If the spirit of Python can crush your hope, your visions, and your dreams you will not have the intensity you need to ‘press on to the mark of the high calling of God in Christ.’ This evil spirit wants to destroy God’s plans and calling for your life.  The python wants to rob you of your drive, motivation, and fight, and replace it with discouragement, hopelessness, and apathy. True to its name sake, the spirit of Python wraps itself around its victims and suffocates the life out of them.  This is true whether the victim is an individual, a family, a business, a church, a community, or even a nation.  The spirit of Python loves to ‘play’ with its victims by squeezing them until their almost dead then releasing its grip somewhat, then squeezing again, time and time again.  Ultimately bringing death to its victim.   This is why one sees individuals, families, businesses, churches, and communities that always seem to be on a roller coaster ride.   Up one moment, down the next, success and prosperity today, failure and devastation tomorrow, only to rise up again, only to fall again.  Each time they fall, they sink lower than ever before. When the spirit of Python is working, there is no real communion or fellowship.   There will be isolation, cliques, and special interest groups.   There is no real sharing or rejoicing, but lots of agitation, strife, contention, depression and a high level of defensiveness.  People will become fearful, weak, and weary. If it can keep you weary so you have no joy or strength to fight.  But remember the joy of the Lord is your strength and you can do all things through Christ Jesus.  (Nehemiah 8:10 and Philippians 4:13)

Daniel 7:25

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”

The spirit of Python is the source of witchcraft and divination. The art of Divination is obtaining secret knowledge, especially of the future which is known as a pagan counterpart of prophecy. Python spirit is a diviner, false prophet, a giver of false prophecy. Careful comparisons of scripture will reveal that inspirational divination is by demonic power, whereas genuine prophecy is by the Holy Spirit of God. The biblical attitude toward divination is distinctly hostile.  Any kind of manipulation is also known as witchcraft as well. Python is the spirit of divination which empowers crystal ball readers, palm readers, tarot card readers, etc. to see into the future.  This spirit has access to us if we expose ourselves to any aspect of the occult through movies, Ouija boards, hypnosis, séances, horoscopes, ‘fun’ fortune-telling, occult rituals or chants, etc. This spirit causes people to focus on the prediction of future events.  More attention on the future, and less on the ‘Now’, a diversionary tactic that keeps people looking to ‘tomorrow’ and never accomplishing what God wants done ‘today’.   However, God wants us to daily seek and trust Him.

Deuteronomy 18:10-14,” the prophet of Jehovah is contrasted with diviners of all sorts and is set forth as the only authorized medium of supernatural revelation.”

The Python spirit is also a spirit of Infirmity which can cause feebleness, frailty, arthritis, cancer, weakness, and many other sicknesses and diseases. I know its true because it struck me with me what it called, Giant Cell Disease (GCA) or otherwise known as Temporal Arteritis, but I am now showing improvement with less pain the last couple years. I was diagnosed in November of 2002. 4 months after the loss of my children I was rushed to the hospital with a 105.2 fever that would not go down. This is a disease that usually ONLY hits senior citizens, not someone of my age. That was one for the medical books.  Since Temporal arteritis cannot be cured, the goal of treatment is to minimize tissue damage that can occur due to inadequate blood flow caused by the condition.  My blood tests showed a 55/40 for a test known as Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) which was way too high which just goes to show this python really tried to kill me in more ways than one. This particular blood test takes up to one hour to complete. My blood test scored 55/40 for the 60 mm/hour (normal 1–40 mm/hour) and 40 is considered high. Temporal arteritis or (GCA) brings a new level of excruciating pain at any time with little to no warning of this type of pain striking. You can go days, weeks or years with no pain then without warning it can strike all over again. Usually those diagnosed with such a disease should always have someone close at any given time. I knew something was wrong when the doctor came into my room with reinforcements smiling at me and stroking my hair while the other was rubbing my back.  Temporal arteritis is known to tear the retina of the eyes, causing blindness to one than eventually the other among many other things. I praise God I have not lost my vision.  I remember days screaming in seer pain and the doctor had me on the steroids at the time. Early recognition and treatment is critical to prevent blindness related to inflammation of branches of the ophthalmic artery. Before the eye is affected, headaches is the most common symptom. Temporal arteritis is also connected with the disorder known as polymyalgia rheumatica. The most common treatment is when your doctor perscribes Prednisone also known as steroids. Although steroids helps to manage the pain to a point, it’s known to bring your immune system down, leaving you vulnerable to many other illnesses and problems. If temporal arteritis is suspected, immediate treatment (even before temporal artery biopsies are performed) with high doses of a corticosteroid is required because blockage (occlusion) from inflammation of a branch of the ophthalmic artery, which supplies blood to the eye, the orbit, and neighboring facial structures, can result in permanent blindness.
 

There is a much more sophisticated type of sorcery caused by this evil spirit known as python.  That is the sickness and death of many people through curses, spells, voodoo, incantations, etc.  People truly get sick and die through the ‘words’ and ‘deeds’ of others through witchcraft.  Many times, when people are sick and dying, and the doctors are scratching their heads and saying, “I just don’t know or understand what is going on”, it will be the spirit of Python working through divination and witchcraft. Where Python is allowed to rule, there will be an ever increase in the use of drugs, drinking and things of that nature.  The spirit of Python can constrict the flow of and can literally steal one’s finances from them.  Where Python is in operation, the ‘love of money’ and the ‘fear of loss’ is always present.

In Revelation 18:23, it is talking about the judgment that falls on ‘Babylon, the great city’ in the end times.   Notice what it says about the sorcerers.

“ And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries (parmakeia – drugs, medications, magic, witchcraft) were all nations deceived.   Revelation 18:23

The ultimate purpose or goal of the spirit of Python is to crush and destroy the vision, dreams, and hopes of the Church and of the individual Believer.   The spirit of Python promotes divination, witchcraft, and rebellion.   Python seeks to break down God’s plan and purpose for the body of Christ by destroying the divine order of authority.  The spirit of Python will always draw attention away from Jesus and onto other human beings, or ‘self’. 

Good News, as born-again believers, we have absolute control and victory over the spirit of Python, through the Name and Shed Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ!   Thank you Lord Jesus!

What I didn’t realize is that people can send this to you as well through their actions and words because of your standing in faith, your relationship with God and what you do for the Kingdom and your testimony.  Keep in mind, when a spouse is unfaithful, or a one sided marriage where  there is dishonesty  that also opens the door to demonic activity where even the innocent parties come under heavy attack.  It is important to recognize these things immediately and address them quickly.  The python’s ultimate goal with me was my death and destruction.  Although the damage was unreal beyond measure, the only reason I am alive and able to write this is because of the Grace of God.

Revelation 12:11

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

The scripture I held on to through the years was

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts ( plans or purposes ) that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. “

“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
