Spells: Poppet Curse Using Unwanted Election Bumph

Do you hate it when you get sent junk mail from a party you actively don’t want to win any upcoming election? Fancy doing a bit of a curse to turn their badly targeted bumph back on them?

Here’s a little curse you can do using a poppet made out of the unwanted paper. It also helps if you have a cat.

A poppet is a magical doll used for witchcraft. You can make poppets to help or heal as well as for curses, but this one’s definitely a curse. (If you don’t approve of cursing, then don’t do it, but some witches are happy to cast the odd grey spell.)

What you do is fold the electioneering leaflet into four, then draw half of a doll figure against one fold – ideally so the face of the disliked candidate is where the doll’s face will be. Cut that out so that when you open the paper up you get two complete doll shapes.

Cut the rest of the leaflet into tiny pieces. Sandwich the little bits between the two doll shapes and staple or glue the edges together. Voila! You have made a poppet.

Then, put the poppet into your cat’s litter tray. If you don’t have a cat or a litter tray, you could ask a cat-owning friend to help you, or be inventive. As you place the poppet in the litter, say:

What my cat does on your face 

Be your fate in this voting race

When the litter tray is well and truly dirty, put the poppet, with the muck, out into the rubbish.

For this blog post, as you can see from the pictures, I used a piece of notepaper to represent an election leaflet. However, if I get sent a suitable one, I’m going to try this spell out for sure.
