Week 11 Rankings (2018): Top 15 Kickers

Things could have been worse for Cody Parkey on Sunday, and that’s only because the Bears won in spite of him. Despite missing four kicks, two field goals and two extra points, his job is safe for now. While we know that kickers are often a week to week proposition, I would steer clear of Parkey for now even though the Bears are sticking with him. With that in mind let’s jump into how our options rank this week, as just 26 teams are taking the field:

  1. Greg Zuerlein – LA Rams – vs. Kansas City
  2. Will Lutz – New Orleans Saints – vs. Philadelphia
  3. Harrison Butker – Kansas City Chiefs – at LA Rams
  4. Mason Crosby – Green Bay Packers – at Seattle
  5. Ryan Succop – Tennessee Titans – at Indianapolis
  6. Justin Tucker – Baltimore Ravens – vs. Cincinnati
  7. Matt Prater – Detroit Lions – vs. Carolina
  8. Brett Maher – Dallas Cowboys – at Atlanta
  9. Adam Vinatieri – Indianapolis Colts – vs. Tennessee
  10. Jake Elliott – Philadelphia Eagles – at New Orleans
  11. Ka’imi Fairbairn – Houston Texans – at Washington
  12. Giorgio Tavecchio – Atlanta Falcons – vs. Dallas
  13. Josh Lambo – Jacksonville Jaguars – vs. Pittsburgh
  14. Mike Badgley – LA Chargers – vs. Denver
  15. Aldrick Rosas – NY Giants – vs. Tampa Bay

Notes:

  • When the Chiefs were going to be taking on the Rams in Mexico City the take was going to be to exercise caution since the field conditions didn’t appear to be up to standard. Now with the game being moved to Los Angeles, Harrison Butker is more in play. Butker will suffer from facing the tough Rams’ defense, but we also might be overrating that impact. After all the Rams did allow 45 points to the Saints before giving up 31 points to Seattle. In fact Los Angeles has given up 103 points in their last three games, and the Chiefs offense certainly should not be taken lightly. After missing an extra point in two straight weeks, Butker bounced back last week to convert all four of his kicks, two field goals and two extra points. He has missed just one of his 17 field goal attempts this season, but more impressively he is already up to 41 extra points.
  • Aside from the fact that there are six teams on bye, there is a legitimate reason why Ryan Succop has already been added in 30% of ESPN leagues this week. For starters he was at 10% ownership prior to that. Additionally Succop is ranked just barely outside the Top-12 of fantasy kickers and this week’s opponent, Indianapolis, has allowed the second most points to opposing kickers. Succop is another kicker who bounced back last week after missing a kick in each of the two weeks prior. It also works in his favor that he has converted three field goals from beyond 50 yards while being perfect on his 15 extra point attempts.
  • If you do some searches this week one name who might come up, out of nowhere I should add, is Mike Badgley. The rookie out of Miami is relatively anonymous so don’t feel bad if this is your first time hearing about him, but he has been perfect on all 14 of kicks since taking the job in San Diego. Badgley has been successful on five field goal attempts, including two from 40-49 yards, and I would look for him to be busy this coming week against the Broncos. At 8.2% ownership he certainly should be readily available if you are plugging a hole created by the bye weeks.
