The Lakers Get Their Man – Mega Deal Brings Mega Star Anthony Davis to Los Angeles

While it cost them a ton, the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James got their man.

The Lakers made the deal that many thought they would on Saturday, reaching a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans for superstar Anthony Davis.

The price? It wasn’t cheap.

The Lakers sent Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first=round pick, including the No. 4 overall selection in Thursday’s NBA draft to the Pelicans.

Don’t expect anything from the teams about the deal, as the deal cannot be finalized until July 6.

The three-time All-NBA forward will now be on the team with James, and right away Vegas has also jumped on the Lakers bandwagon, as despite not even making the playoffs, they are the official favorites to win the title next season.

The Lakers are now 3/1 to win the title with Davis aboard, with the Milwaukee Bucks at 6/1, and the Los Angeles Clippers at 7/1.

The team that won the title this week, the Raptors, are 10/1, while the Golden State Warriors, who lost the title series, are 12/1.

The package that the Pelicans got for Davis will go down as one of the most substantial returns on a single star player in modern league history.

There’s been rumblings about the Lakers and Davis since the moment that the forward requested a trade to L.A. in January.

Now with James, Davis and the Lakers are going to be a force to be reckon with, and there’s no doubt that things just got a whole lot more interesting out West.
