Dream: Driving the Large Truck, Awkwardly

Apparently, it’s time for my subconscious to weigh in on what the hell I’m up to these days…

Woke up after a long and very clearly recalled dream (which means I got enough sleep last night– yay!)

It seemed I was with a moving company. I was being trained on driving one of the trucks, which was about the size of a dump truck. My conscious mind bled through enough that I told my two trainers (one a woman, the other a man) that I didn’t drive– but then it would get subsided again. I moved my first truck into position in front of a house, and then we called a break. The house was empty of people, and needed some work, but it was in otherwise good shape. We convened in the basement to discuss things, and I felt this niggle of pride for how hard this job was– yet I was able to actually learn it. I parked that truck, on a hill yet!

The dream was so circling the details of the operation of trucks and the “test” of parking in front of a house, that I was a little bewildered upon awakening. My trainers and I were discussing every nuance, and– a lot of the circling was my doing. I kept doubting myself and was amazed these people were trusting me enough for such a responsibility.

INTERP:  This one is obviously about taking on more responsibilities! ”Driving a load” and training for a job that seems beyond me, figuring out the details and trying to get my confidence up even after proving I can do it? Yeah, pretty obvious!

I assume that this is a part of my delayed “growing up” issues due to my long chronic illness and an overly controlling husband. As I begin to negotiate this life-with-more-power thing, I’m starting to “pull more weight” and taking on “a bigger haul.” Slowly, I’m starting to feel more mastery.

Not a bad dream at all, despite the exhaustive circling details. =^)
