Back From The Wilderness Canoe Expedition Semester

It’s been a long, hot, low-water summer full of challenges, and we’re finally back from the Wilderness Canoe Expedition Semester (WCES). Since mid-June we’ve spent seven weeks on the rivers of Maine and Quebec guiding. That’s a lot of rapids, carries, and meals cooked over the fire. Today we said farewell to our WCES crew, and now we’ve got a week to catch up with the world before starting the fall Wilderness Bushcraft Semester.

The past four weeks saw us on the Allagash and East Branch of the Penobscot, as well as hiking in Baxter State Park and the Katahdin Woods And Waters National Monument. It was an amazing time with a great group of people who came together as a team. We accomplished a lot, and had a ton of laughs along the way.

The photo above is of Allagash Falls. To get it I carried my boat around the falls, then poled up to the pool just below the falls.
