Uniworld’s New River Cruise Ships in 2020

Following the debut of their remodeled super ships S.S. Beatrice in 2018 and S.S. Bon Voyage in 2019, Uniworld will be adding four new luxury river cruise ships to its lineup in 2020.  Uniworld River Cruises is known for its boutique river cruises that feel more like a floating luxury hotel. 

The new super ships are larger, with more suites and connecting rooms for groups traveling together as well as a lounge with grand staircase.  Uniworld’s new river cruise ships also feature locally-sourced cuisine and decor and are designed with eco-friendly materials.  With the addition of Uniworld’s new river cruise ships in 2020, more than half of its fleet will be super ships.

Mekong Jewel – Vietnam & Cambodia
The first of Uniworld’s new river cruise ships set for release in 2020, Mekong Jewel, will launch on January 3, 2020 and will replace Uniworld’s Mekong Navigator.  The luxurious new super ship has a capacity of 56 passengers and features a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, spa, gym, hair and nail salon, library and two lounges as you cruise in comfort along one of the most vital rivers in Southeast Asia.

Your 13-day voyage aboard the Mekong Jewel spans from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap and includes excursions to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh.  The Mekong Jewel will offer two dining venues: the main restaurant and an outdoor venue on the upper deck.

S.S. Satet – Nile River, Egypt
Cruise the Nile river in style on Uniworld’s S.S. Satet, named after one of the Ancient Egyptian goddesses of the Nile.  The brand new super ship will debut on January 6, 2020 and promises to be the most luxurious cruise ship on the Nile.  The new super ship is larger, but still retains the intimate boutique feel of Uniworld’s cruise ships with 42 suites with a capacity of 84 passengers. 

Your 12 day voyage on the S.S. Satet includes excursions at notable sites along the Nile river including the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the Temple of Luxor, Colossi of Memnon, and the Aswan High Dam.  All excursions are hosted in English by local experts.  Replacing Uniworld’s River Tosca cruise ship, the S.S. Satet will have three different dining venues, as well as a swimming pool and massage suite.

S.S. Sao Gabriel – The Douro River Valley
S.S. Sao Gabriel will launch on March 26, 2020 and replaces the Queen Isabel.  The S.S. Sao Gabriel includes 11 glorious days exploring along the UNESCO-designated Douro River Valley in Portugal and Spain.  Your voyage features private tastings of Port wine as well as excursions to local wine vineyards called quintas, Porto’s historic Ribeira district, Coimbra, and Salamanca, Spain.  S.S. Sao Gabriel brings this rich region to life through its cutting edge locally sourced cuisine and wine.  With a capacity of 100 passengers and including butler service and lavishly appointed suites, S.S. Sao Gabriel is truly the most luxurious way to explore the Douro River.

S.S. La Venezia – Venice, Italy
S.S. La Venezia will be the new incarnation of Uniworld’s renovated River Countess, launching March 27, 2020. Voyages on the S.S. La Venezia include an 8-day cruise around Venice, the Po river as well as three outer-lying Venetian islands: Burano, Mazzorbo and Torcello.  There is an option for an added 2-day land trip to Milan to view Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous mural, The Last Supper.  S.S. La Venezia features a spa, library, lounge and bar onboard.
