Louisiana Flood Worker to Trump: GTFO

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

As Dupré wrote Friday,  Donald Trump’s latest performance, his defiant photo ops in Louisiana amid its catastrophe, drew heavy criticism, this time from Louisiana flood survivors. Pretending to “help out” victims, he spent all of 49 seconds unloading Play-Doh, that locals thought was an outrageous insenstitive and outrageously inconsiderate act. Louisiana Governor John Bell had told trump not to go there, for good reason. The backlash from the fiasco has begun.

“He is exploiting an opportunity to look as if he is welcomed during a tragedy,” a flood aid worker Neva Butkus said about the US Republican Presidential hopeful.

“We welcome him to Louisiana, but not for a photo-op. Instead we hope he’ll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of the storm,” Governor Edwards said ahead of Trump’s visit, completely dismissed by the presidential candidate.

“Our Governor literally told him (as this article shows) that Trump is welcome in our state but if he’s coming, he better be volunteering or writing a sizable check to assist with recovery,” continued Butkus. “A 60 second video of him unloading play-doh from a truck does not count.”

Nevertheless, Trump lovers praise his going to Louisiana and “helping” for 60 seconds. Others times it to be 49 seconds of “helping”.) Trump supporters continue to believe he donated goods and money, both proven to be no more than another performance designed to dupe naive voters, such as a few commenters under the article Louisiana Homeless, Catastrophic Flood Victims’ Gifts from Obama, Hillary, Trump Will Amaze You.

Not that facts matter to many Americans, but to wit: A fact check was conducted by David Fahrenthold of The Washington Post  to learn if Donald had donated the goods, including the Play-Doh. He asked a local Ascension Parish spokesperson whether Donald had donated the supplies in question.

“We don’t have any info about a donation truck that came from him directly,” the spokesperson said, according to a Fahrenhold’s Tweet Sunday.

Fox News reported about the supposed funds Trump donated. The Trump campaign told Fox News that Donald Trump made a $100,000 donation to the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund, as the state’s Governor John Bel Edwards had publicly requested he do. When asked, however, the fund declined to confirm any such donation exists.

Butkus demanded what many former Trump supporters in Louisiana have.

“Trump. Seriously. Where is the check?” Buktus asserted. “Like, where is the f-ing check?

“My people are drowning. My co-workers and family and friends have lost everything. My friends and co-workers that haven’t lost everything are taking off work (my boyfriend is taking PTO) to clean out people’s homes and rip out sheet rock and carpet.

“Give us money or GTFO. I don’t want to see you in your suit in AUGUST carrying boxes off a truck like you care about us.

“Louisiana is an incredible place. Baton Rouge is my home and I have watched people drop EVERYTHING to help one another during this time. The whole country seems to be floored by the generosity and love that our residents show each other during tough times, but to us this is normal. This is Louisiana. And you do not belong here.”

Freak Out Nation (FON) puts it this way: Trump supporters are being played for suckers… “Thirteen people died and tens of thousands of people have been displaced in Louisiana. Donald used them for a photo-op.”

FON adds that Donald’s history speaks for itself.

As it turns out, Donald Trump did donate $100,000. The reason reporters had trouble tracking the gift is that “they didn’t think his benefactor would be a church where Tony Perkins, the anti-gay pastor, offers services as an interim pastor. Donald donated the badly needed funds to a local hate group, as the Baton Rouge newspaper The Advocate reported and numerous others such as the Daily News Bin reported.

Shut the f*ck up, Paul Brown. Stop being her yes-man. Grow a pair and do something with your life. You’ve posted happy comments for her on every damn post. You people do realize no one that calls themselves liberals come here except to spread socialist clap-trap, right? If you in opposition to us, you’re just here spouting liberal propaganda. We know that and we aren’t ever going to listen. GO AWAY. Both of you. Leave our tiny forum and news site in peace. And at the very least if you’re going to post articles, at least put some effort into citations, resources, sources, and links. Just because you say it doesn’t make it true.

From somebody who LIVES IN LOUISIANA – let me tell you your article is an outright fabrication. Donald Trump was here all damned day and he was unloading that truck far longer than you claim. The rest of the time he was touring the area and meeting people and trying to reassure them things would be alright. And the playdo wasn’t the only toys he brought. There were lots – intended for children who’d lost everything. Giving people water and food is great, but the kids are devastated and need something to keep them preoccupied while the parents try to sort through the wreckage. Praise the man for thinking to bring toys. And f*ck you for dogging him out over it.

Incidentally the person you quote dogging him out is an out-of-state aid worker and there are no citations to even verify this claim that I can find. Does this person really exist? If so, they still aren’t a resident. You lie.

I’d rather see Trump bringing Playdo than watch Obama play golf. Where’s my playdo, Obama? Oh, you didn’t bother to interrupt your play date to come see if we’re alive or not. Nice…nice…

And the church, is located right smack in the middle of the worst hit area and like it or not, that church is helping everyone in that area with no regard to profit or religion on anything else. So maybe their preacher don’t like gays. He’s still doing more than FEMA or Obama. So if Trump gave the guy doing something the money, well that just shows he knows how to spend the money. At least in that guy’s hands it will get put to use to help the area people and not pigeon-holed like the Red Cross does with their cash.

FREAK OUT NATION is not a legitimate source of information. Are you kidding me???

You’ve obviously never been in a crisis like this. I have. I went through Rita and let me tell you something the most righteous thing a leader can do is show up in the middle of the sh*t and swing a bag or toss a box. It lets the survivors know he at least gave a sh*t enough to come down and get dirty with you. He’s at least acknowledging publicly that something catastrophic has happened to you. It makes you feel better and it gives you the will to keep slogging through the sh*t. He can’t go build new houses overnight…so he shakes a hand, pats a back, consoles a crying woman and passes out some playdo dammit. What has Obama done? Oh…he’s on the 8th hole…my bad.
