The Rise of Russia-China Influence in the Middle East

The old maxim continues to hold true.  No country has a military so powerful that it can prevent war in times of peace or guarantee victory in times of war.  Just as the political process and its influences can contaminate and finally destroy an economic system at both the micro and macro levels, we see that geo-politics can rear its ugly head and easily obliterate neocon calculations for Middle East and world domination. 

I must admit I was always puzzled as to why Gadaffi did not offer Russia and China deals in order to stop the US-EU objective of destroying his plans for an integrated Africa. The US exposed the malignancy of its regime change plans through the results of its war crime against Libya. Any illusion that US intervention leads to progressive advancement was exposed as an absurdity and contradiction in terms.

The US can no longer dictate Middle East foreign policy and has completely abdicated any claim to legitimacy while making Saudi Arabia a festering pus wound and an obscene freak-show to any nation desiring civilization.  The “Kingdom” now looks more like Tony Montana’s “Scarface” cocaine empire with insane theocratic underpinnings.  Its floundering and miscalculations in Yemen have demonstrated to the world that Saudi oil ought to be under the control of a trusteeship that would pay for the damage it has wrought on the world since 9/11.   The US has sown the seeds for the fall of a Saudi regime that thought the US would ensure its freedom of action with regard to giving rise to a jihadi foreign legion and regime change throughout the Middle East while it planned on preventing blowback by arming itself to the teeth with advanced US weaponry and buying retired US generals as military advisors who actually run Saudi military operations.  

It seems the US has reneged on its pledge to allow Saudi Arabia a free hand  across the Middle East even as the Saudis hold trillions of dollars in US debt.  While the Saudis believe this gives them leverage over the US, which to an extent it does, what they need to realize is that when someone owes you trillions of dollars it is as much your problem as it is theirs.   

And while the Saudis are bogged down in Yemen and are heaped with international condemnation for the humanitarian disaster they have perpetrated there, they will also be wondering how to save their jihadist army in Syria and Iraq, Hezzbollah, Russian and Chinese intervention.  

What ought to concern the Saudis and US more, considering the US and EU used a contrived casus belli of Gadaffi massacring civilians for the purpose of prosecuting regime change when he had never done so in any town he had retaken prior to the massive EU bombardment that prevented him from defeating the jihadists the Saudis funded in Libya, is that there is now an actual slaughter and starvation of civilians in Yemen on a scale that the international community will have a much harder time ignoring than our Nobel Peace Prize awardee, Barak Hussein Obama.   With Russia and China now in the Middle East neighborhood, what is to stop them from opening up a bufffer zone using the same US modus operadi of Responsibility to Protect (R2P) that the US used in Libya?  It is said that it took five years of war in Syria to do what the Saudis did in five months to Yemen.  How much can the world allow this to continue and act as if the US actually cares about about humanitarian issues.   If Russia and China bring and end to the war in Yemen, in opposition to Saudi desires, we may see a serious destabilization of Saudi Arabia as it is hit with blowback due to its jihadi foreign legion returning to Saudi Arabia.    

Now that Russia has seized the initiative from a corrupt, incompetent, and schizophrenic neocon US bi-partisan foreign policy, and now seems to have an even greater ally, China, whose ability to hold seized territory is only surpassed by the number of troops it would be able to field across the Middle East, it currently stands at the ready to assist Russia in exposing the corrupt US-al Qaeda-partnership that has established ISIS as a force which had grown under US auspices to the point that it has metastasized into a disease with ambitions of territorial sovereignty and jihadist foreign policy.  The US is now scrambling for relevancy as it has long since discarded as any shred of legitimacy or sanity.  

While manpower is an issue with the US as its military is worn-out, when it comes to fighting wars the PLA could easily double its 2.3 million-man army within a year and still this would only represent about  four-tenths of 1% of its overall population.  It could easily occupy Iraq, Syria and Yemen and do so at the request of those nations or by invoking R2P itself.  

What the US will now probably do now is arm as many groups and provide as much shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles as it can with the hopes of causing Russia to be stuck in the very same quagmire that has overcome the US’s ability to comprehend much less control.  As with all the US’s plans over the last 25 years since Operation Desert Storm, the potential for blowback is disastrous but not unpredictable.  Chomsky had stated that if things got out of US control, it would hit everything with a sledgehammer and then see what it could exploit out of the ensuing chaos.  What it has to not have considered is that this chaos will also be exploitable by others in ways that will catch the US as surprised as Russia and China in Syria and the S300 anti-aircraft missile umbrella Hezbollah will now be able to act under with its increased access to weaponry as Nasrallah’s military organization has already received 75 Russian tanks from Syria.

The Cheney Doctrine, Wolfowitz Doctrine, Bush Doctrine and and the Project for A New American Century’s “Rebuilding America’s Defenses” and all its neocon thinkers are suddenly looking like dunces. It seems as if Wolfowitz did not understand the difference between defense and offense.  The vaunted power of US uni-polar hegemony has been exposed for the house of cards most historians knew it to be.  Suddenly realpolitik has made dunces out of the Kristols, Kagan, Perle, Feith, Abrams, Rumsfeld, Bolton, and lets not forget the ever-popular Fox commentator Krauthammer. Even Hillary’s Israeli-centric pragmatism seems greatly diminished, as the implications of a Russia-China success in Syria will provide increased standing to Iran and Hezbollah.  

The idiots who have steered US foreign policy for so long will now call for the EU to try to double down on a losing hand and try to sow even greater chaos.  Will the world allow this to happen?  Will the EU allow itself to be the chips in the US’s high stakes poker game in the Middle East?  With China and Russia now involved in the Middle East, the plans for US domination are as tattered as are our political leaders’ belief in the US Constitution, free markets and individual liberty.  Americans should see the Vineyard of the Saker’s white paper on the Russia-China Double Helix.  It will dispell and notion that the US will any longer be able to dictate terms to the world while chaining itself to a corpse that is the EU/NATO allaince..

The funniest thing that has happpened is that the Saudis have ensured they will be overcome by eventualities outside of their control as choas overcomes their ability to ensure survival.  They have made many enemies since 9/11, including giving the US the excuse to invade Iraq.  May they now reap what they have sown.
