Romania Prepares For WAR : Hundreds of US Soldiers With Tanks And Helicopters Sent to Mihail Kogălniceanu Base in Romania
The Pentagon receives for 2019 a record sum – nearly 717 billion dollars – in the context of tensions between NATO and Russia.Part of that money will be in Romania.

The United States sends Military Air Base “Mihail Kogalniceanu” as part of the US commitment to securing NATO’s eastern flank.
US Military Forces deployed in Europe have arrive from Poland along with military equipment at the Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Constanta County as part of the US commitment to securing NATO’s eastern flank, in the Atlantic Resolve Operation, a press release released on Wednesday 27 February 2019,by the Ministry of National Defense (MApN).
The approximately 500 US soldiers are part of the 1st Battalion of the Regiment 16 Infantry Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division 1- and are equipped with M1 Abrams tanks and infantry fighting vehicle M2 Bradley. They will participate, this year, in multinational exercises alongside soldiers from the structures of the Romanian Land Forces.
Also, about 100 soldiers and helicopters such as CH-47 Chinook, AH-64 Appache, UH-60 & HH-60 Black Hawk from Combat Aviation Brigade 1 will have arrive at Mihail Kogălniceanu, also from the 1st Infantry Division. They will carry out exercises together with military structures from the Romanian Air Force, bilateral, joint and multinational trainings.
At the same time, the Escadrile 572 Helicopters at Kogălniceanu Base will ensure CASEVAC (Casuality Evacuation) service with an IAR 330 PUMA helicopter equipped and trained for this type of mission.
It is also worth mentioning that Air Base 57 “Mihail Kogalniceanu” will provide some of the personnel that will fit the Romanian Air Force detachment, which will be made available to the UN during the MINUSMA mission, starting with October this year.
