NationalWeatherForce.com has issued a Tornado Watch for Southern half of OK … East/Southeast TX Panhandle … Northern half of TX, including DFW … effective through later evening …

Strong upper divergence and developing instability has brought a cluster of storms across Western Texas, approaching the Southern Panhandle right now. These storms will move northeastward into better shear to produce the risk of tornadoes.
Within the angled boundary from those storms east-southeastward through the Dallas, TX areas, storms will form and become supercells rather quickly … given a good sheared environment. Our model is depicting Northern TX for having stronger tornado potential with the most discrete storms … and this risk for even EF0 tornadoes exists through Dallas/Fort-Worth as well … with tornado risks extending into Southern Oklahoma.
In addition to tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds will also be possible …

A very fast developing surface low will continue to move northward toward the Northern half of the coast of SC and the Southern NC Coasts through the next day … hanging around and stalling offshore for at least a couple days after that … As this does so, squalls coming in from the east around the surface low’s north side will contribute to winds over 35-40+ mph … and this may reach Tropical Storm Force.
