Former Hurricane Blanca’s Moisture Will Up Shower/Thunderstorm Chances Across the Southwest

Blanca is crossing Baja, Mexico and her moisture and upper level dynamics will impact the Southwest and West through all of California through Tuesday and into some of Wednesday as well, bringing a risk of showers and thunderstorms.

Blanca’s upper level dynamics are currently south of Arizona and moving north-northwestward toward Arizona and Southern California.  Rain will start falling in Southern California and Arizona overnight tonight and into Tuesday morning, spreading through the rest of Arizona, Nevada, Utah over the day on Tuesday and into Tuesday night.

Storms in Central/Northern California may become strong to severe with daytime heating … as well as across Central/Northern Arizona where some clearing may be introduced and the storms will be more severe as a result.
