The first hurricane of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season is going to be official in a couple of days, moving west-northwest toward the Caribbean.  While coming up on the Anniversary of Katrina, the development area poses a threat to the Gulf States down the line.

Danny is currently at 50 mph and could be a Hurricane by Friday.  This system will undergo tough development due to some unfavorable shear, thanks to the Super El Nino currently present.  Usually El Nino Seasons do not bring high amounts of tropical systems, but there have been recorded seasons where even just one of these has caused major damage.

Current projections here at NationalWeatherForce.com are continuing to show a west-northwest movement.  A couple models want Danny just east of the Eastern United States, curving away from the country … while some want to take him to Florida and into the Gulf Of Mexico, much like Andrew, Katrina, and a number of other tracks .. a common occurrence this time of year.
