(N.Morgan) The turmoil this country is in gets worse and worse by the day. The drought in California is going to affect food production, hence, affecting the food supply. The immigration influx is bringing its own set of issues, including and not limited to, diseases this country has seen in decades. Could California lose its farms? Even the meat farms there will be taking a hit. California is the state with the largest economy, but in light of these events taking place now, it won’t be for long. Would the regime turn these farms into FEMA work camps?

The Full Effects

The latest report details the future effects of this lasting drought on our food security are intense. Here are the findings, from the UC Davis press release:

• Direct costs to agriculture total $1.5 billion (revenue losses of $1 billion and $0.5 billion in additional pumping costs). This net revenue loss is about 3% of the state’s total agricultural value.

• The total statewide economic cost of the 2014 drought is $2.2 billion.

• The loss of 17,100 seasonal and part-time jobs related to agriculture represents 3.8% of farm unemployment.

• 428,000 acres, or 5%, of irrigated cropland is going out of production in the Central Valley, Central Coast, and Southern California because of the drought.

• The Central Valley is hardest hit, particularly the Tulare Basin, with projected losses of $810 million, or 2.3%, in crop revenue; $203 million in dairy and livestock value; and $453 million in additional well-pumping costs.

• Agriculture on the Central Coast and in Southern California will be less affected by this year’s drought, with about 19,150 acres fallowed, $10 million in lost crop revenue and $6.3 million in additional pumping costs.

• Overdraft of groundwater is expected to cause additional wells in the Tulare Basin to run dry if the drought continues.

• The drought is likely to continue through 2015, regardless of El Niño conditions.

• Consumer food prices will be largely unaffected. Higher prices at the grocery store of high-value California crops like nuts, wine grapes, and dairy foods are driven more by market demand than by the drought.

This country could be heading for another crisis like it has never seen before. The food supply is vital to not only our survival, but to our independence from govt entities.

The immigation influx is also causing majot issues. The influx of unaccompanied immigrant children crossing the border may be triggering yet another problem for Border Patrol agents–fake family units. Although there are no official numbers available, there are reports of unaccompanied immigrant children being approached by adult immigrants and told to pose as a family in order to have a better chance of staying in the U.S. Workers at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio told Chris Cabrera with the National Border Patrol Council about what some of the immigrant children at their center experienced before crossing the border.

“There were a couple of boys there that were saying that men approached them at some point in their journey on the Mexican side and told them ‘hey from this point until further notice, I’m gonna be your father and this guy’s gonna be your uncle’ and [they would] come up with a back story so they could both pass through,” explained Cabrera.
