9/11: The Untold Truth

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

***** The idea that there was no warning prior to the terrorist attacks of 9/11 is utterly false. I tried twice to warn the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) several months before the attacks. Below is a copy of my letter to the 9/11 Commission, which was charged with investigating the circumstances surrounding the terrorist attacks. I never heard back from the commission, however. *****

April 16, 2004

National Commission on Terrorist Attacks
301 7th Street SW, Suite 5125
Washington, DC 20407

Dear Commission:

The Commission has undertaken a great responsibility to investigate the many circumstances surrounding the terrorist attacks of 9/11. In the interest of completeness and fairness, however, you might be interested in knowing that prior to 9/11 I had tried to go to the FBI with specific information about the terrorist attacks. Here’s the unadulterated true story.

Several months before the attacks of 9/11, I had gone to the FBI. I told them that I had critical information regarding our national security. (I really did!) However, there apparently was no one there who could talk to me, so they took my name and telephone number and told me someone would contact me. When I didn’t hear from anyone after a few weeks, however, I became concerned and went back to the FBI office. Again I told them that it was really important that I talked to someone. They told me that they had forwarded my name and other information and again that someone would contact me.

No one ever did, however.

Meanwhile, I had told my friend about my unfortunate experience with the FBI. I told her that I was really concerned about what was going to happen and described the attacks to her in some detail, which left her rather upset.

I found myself in a private meeting with university officials some months later. I complained bitterly and openly during the meeting that I had gone to the FBI about very grave national security issues, but that I hadn’t been able to get anyone to listen to me.

The attacks were then only four days away.

On the morning of 9/11, my friend called me frantically on the telephone, her voice filled with terror, crying out, “My God, you were right!”

As you clearly can see for yourself, I had gone to the authorities prior to 9/11 in order to warn them about the terrorist attacks. I also knew at the time that I would have to help them put all the pieces together so they could see what was happening. If only someone had believed me then—as I hope you believe me now—maybe things would have been different and a lot of people would still be alive today.

Sincerely,
Peter J. Italia, MD

***** Note: In both mid-October and early November of 2000, I spoke through a bulletproof window in the lobby of the FBI office in Rutland, Vermont, with an unnamed female agent/employee on the other side. She told me that my information would be sent to the regional office in Burlington, Vermont. I specifically told her (1) that the attack on the USS Cole was the work of al-Queda operatives and (2) that another major terrorist plot critical to our national security was already in the works and (3) that it was imperative that I talk to an agent as soon as possible. The friend who I warned about the 9/11 attacks is named Nancy Traynor of Rutland, Vermont. As I mentioned, I never heard from anyone from the FBI nor did anyone from the commission follow up with me. *****

When searching for truth, it is as you already know, extremely helpful if one records as much as possible regarding the claim or accusation, in this case, of the commissions’ lack of response. Had you named names of those you talked to, their titles and a bit of information about them and the times of the calls including every person that you had contacted, then you have left a traceable paper and witness trail. If you don’t do that in this age of deception, I for one, will not believe you and anyone who is a critical thinker won’t believe you either. Stating in the body of the letter (I really did) in parentheses doesn’t carry that much viability as of late.

I certainly agree with you. In both October and November of 2000, I spoke in the lobby through a bullet-proof window with an unnamed female agent on the other side at the FBI office in Rutland, Vermont. She told me that my information would be sent to the regional office in Burlington, Vermont. I specifically told her that the attack on the USS Cole was the work of al-Queda operatives and that another major terrorist plot critical to our national security was already in the works and that it was imperative that I talk to an agent as soon as possible. The friend who I warned about the 9/11 attacks is named Nancy Traynor of Rutland, Vermont. As I said, I never heard from anyone from the FBI nor did anyone from the commission follow up with me.
