They're Not Worth It

Do you want the truth? Or something beautiful?

Over the weekend I was driving along and saw a building that
reminded me of a bad moment in my life. 
Instantly I was transported to that exact moment, time, and place.  Before I knew it, other thoughts and bad
memories surrounding this individual surfaced and I found myself upset, angry,
and pretty close to hating them.  Wishes
of them getting the punishment they deserved, hopes of them feeling the pain I felt,
and visions of them one day realizing it and apologizing ran through my
mind.  I was pissed and I didn’t want to
think positive, nor did I want to let it go. 
I wanted to call and curse them out and if I would have seen them, I
probably wouldn’t be typing this blog today….

After about 10 minutes, I realized the only person I was
hurting was ME.  I surrendered my power,
thoughts, and time to that person.  I was
giving attention undeserved, thoughts they weren’t worthy of, and time I couldn’t
regain.  I was reliving the moment,
feeling the pain, and only causing myself grief.  You may be thinking I need to forgive, and
honestly I have.  I‘ve forgiven the things
in which I feel were done to me, but I haven’t forgotten.  Forgetting the experience denies the lesson…   The “wrongs” that were done has brought about
many “rights” (lessons) in my life…  I
learned, grew, and gained knowledge of the power of releasing…

Many of you are where I was this past weekend, but you’ve
been there for days, weeks, months, and some of you years…  You’re upset because they’ve moved on free of
the hurt they’ve caused you… You’re pissed because you gave them the best years
of your life, but you didn’t get it in return… 
You’re angry with God because He has allowed them to walk away without
what seems to be punishment…  And you don’t
want to forgive nor pray for them, YOU WANT THEM TO PAY… 

The truth is… They’re not worth it…  They’re not worth your thoughts, energy, and
time…  They’re not worth you holding on
to…  They’re not worth you sowing
thoughts of being hurt and YOU REAPING THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR THOUGHTS….  Forgiving can be hard when you’ve been hurt,
but you have to.  Being angry chains you
to the individual or event, and you are worth more than that.  There will be times when dark moment’s
surface, but you have to shine the light of forgiveness on it.  Forgive them for the things they’ve done and  wish them everything you want in life…  Our thoughts hold power, so use it to your
advantage… Remember, wishing bad on someone else is wishing bad on yourself….
