You're Not Ready For My Future

Last week the world lost an influential leader, Nelson
Mandela.  Nelson Mandela leaves behind a
legacy that many have said we will not see again in this life time.  In my opinion, he was the last living world
changer of our life time.  As people
shared their reaction to Mandela’s death, one reaction struck me “After 27
years in Prison he was freed and years later he became the President of his own
land.  He lived for 95 years.  God replaced all the years that was taken
from him.” 

When I read that reaction it reminded me of the scripture
verse 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, “So we do
not lose heart.  Through our outer self
is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.  For this light momentary affliction is
preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look
not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.  For the things that are seen are transient,
but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

I can only assume the 27 years Nelson Mandela was in prison
he was very optimistic on his future, but he probably had some bad days.  The days were he wonders would he ever be
free, why he had to go through this, when will the better days come.  I wonder if he ever imagined that he would be
President after he left prison.

The Truth is…we cannot look at our current situation to know
our future.  Does it get hard sometimes?
Yes, if you have been dealing with a situation for a while you wonder when it
will be over. 

Sometimes you will have the most optimistic outlook.  You will see your future so bright.  You know this day shall pass and you walk in
expectancy because you are certain God didn’t bring you this far to leave you
now.  You will have the confidence that
things will work out, but then it is those days that you may doubt the process.  You question where is God in all of
this?  Have God forgotten about you?  You do not want to admit these thoughts to
anyone, so you keep it to yourself, but you have to trust the process.  You have to keep the faith that God has not
forgotten about you.  He will send little
nuggets your way to remind you that He has not forgotten about you.  You have to trust God to know that whatever
you are going through leads to the best future. 
It leads to a future you cannot even imagine. 

My prayer for you today is that you will always trust the
process even when the road seems rough.
