How Transgender Law SB 132 is being manipulated by heterosexual males in prison

Dear Sen. Scott Weiner, 

First, thank you for all of your time and support as you advocate for the rights of our LGTBQ+ community. If I had this type of support in 1997 when I was 19 years old, I would not be in prison now for protecting myself.

However, heterosexual men are manipulating your efforts by now claiming they “identify” as a woman to come to CCWF and CIW. These male convicted rapists and pedophiles have now impregnated two women in CCWF and allegedly one in CIW in the few months they’ve been here. That has been verified.

Those who are serious about their transition I/we fully support, and post-op they would be welcomed by inmate and staff alike. But this is not what is happening.

These male convicted rapists and pedophiles have now impregnated two women in CCWF.

So, when we real women report that we do not feel safe living in a locked cell with a man with a penis, we get punished and receive an RVR (Rules Violation Report), 115, for “refusing housing” and lose our parole date and privileges and may possibly be placed in administrative segregation!?

Why is our physical and mental safety not being protected?

Your SB 132 needs to be revised or amended to be more specific and include better guidelines for real transgenders and when this new law can apply, as post operation and individualized or double-cell housing will ensure the safety of all involved.

Right now, SB 132 is victimizing real women here in CCWF and CIW, as well as vilifying real transgenders who are serious about their growth and healing.

You, Sen. Weiner, have the authority to implement stronger applications of this law to ensure the safety of all involved and stop heterosexual men from impregnating and possibly raping women in CCWF and CIW.
