Help Save the Historical Pruitt Bridge!

Would you please help us? This is a public outcry!

The Pruitt Bridge, better known as the old Buffalo Bridge (# 01689), is an extremely important part of Newton County and MUST be saved and under the ownership of Newton County. 

A petition to save the historic bridge is currently being circulated, and it’s urgent that we get as many names on it as soon as we can. Honestly, we would like to see several more thousand names added soon, especially since it’s available online. 

Please hurry! There are two options: sign it online OR print it off, sign it, have your friends and family sign it, and return it to Secure Arkansas (see address below).

Here’s the purpose of the petition:

Therefore, we the undersigned people, do present this petition to all relevant constitutional officers, requesting that ARDOT be ordered NOT to destroy the old Buffalo River Bridge located in Pruitt, Arkansas but rather to transfer ownership to Newton County, with ARDOT maintaining responsibility as described above for the purpose of preserving its historic, cultural, social, and logistical, etc. value and protect the river from the damages which would result from unwarranted destruction of it.

We commend Justice of the Peace, Arlis Jones, for defending the old bridge and all the hard work that has gone into it.
