Sorry to burst your bubble kind sir but that quote is made up and nothing like it appears in the Mahabharata. In chapter 10 of the Dhrona Parva it talks about a weapon that was pointed at Bhima’s head and it set his chariot on fire. When the army was told to lay down their axes, bows, maces, javellins, etc… and that by doing so the weapon would not harm them. Later on when the weapon was deployed again it caused arrows to fall from the sky which killed thousands of the opposing army. This is a mixture of mythology and history. There is nothing at all that even remotely describes what could be an atomic bomb. It sounds like a Trebuchet with some kind of shrapnel mixed in tar and set on fire and thrown at the army. Also, this story of an ancient city with high readings of radiation is not true. It’s completely made up. If you don’t believe me write to a professor of an Indian University and ask them about this. Try to confirm it from a scientific source rather than from a “conspiracy” website where someone with little or no scientific knowledge tries to make something out of nothing. Seriously, it’s important to verify stories like this because on the surface they sound shocking and make a person think “what if?” or “it’s possible” but in reality it’s also possible that pigs used to fly out of people’s bottom but since we can’t prove it there’s no way to know for certain. A good journalist has drumed into their head “Verify your sources.” If you can’t get two or three completely independent and reliable sources then they are told that they cannot report it. It is likely that ancient man had technological knowledge that was lost with time. For example there is ample evidence that the ancient Egyptians understood the principles of flight and had made gliders which were used. But they didn’t have airplanes with motors.

I couldn’t find a legit source for the claim of radioactive ash — it just seems to be copied word-for-word from fringe cite to fringe cite. The few who cite a source claim it is from a 1992 issue of “World Island Review,” yet they don’t quote it directly, and no other evidence for this publication seems to exist. There doesn’t seem to be any other source. This claim seems to have no basis in reality.

Actually what happened is this. Long, Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, ancient Pakis were working on a clay uranium 235 waterpipe. They were pissed at the Hindis who controled the Kashmir region. They wanted to sell their waterpipes to ancient Mayans. One of the Pakis went to Hindiland and lit his pipe, said “I kill you” then detonated into a nuclear cloud! Makes about as much sense as this article.
