US Preparing for Invasion of Iran

Voice of America reported that Israel and the United States are planning joint military exercises in 2012 with a focus on missile defense.

Apparently, the Israeli media announced that Israel’s government is considering an attack on Iran’s contentious nuclear sites. Iran has vowed to hit back. The northern Israel borders have been prepared for readiness;  a fence separates towns and farms in Israel and the occupied Golan Heights from southern Lebanon, a base for Hezbollah, and from Syria. Both are allies of Iran.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) declared this month in their online journal  ”Foreign Affairs” that it is now time to attack Iran, subtitled “Why a Strike Is the Least Bad Option.”

The politically influential organization argued that opponents of military action against Iran assume a U.S. military strike would be far more dangerous than simply letting Tehran build a bomb. Not so, argues this former Pentagon defense planner. With a carefully designed strike, Washington could mitigate the costs—or at least bring them down to a bearable level—and spare the region and the world from an unacceptable threat.
