North Korea rocket launch will break UN pacts

 North Korea has begun fuelling a rocket for a launch which is considered the first step for testing ballistic missile technology that was banned by the UN,

violating UN resolutions and hurt global anti-nuclear efforts.

The image from a privately operated satellite was taken at the Tongchang-ri site where North Korea says it plans to launch the rocket between April 12 and 16, reported AP.

North Korea had begun inserting liquid fuel into the rocket; a diplomatic source told Japanese newspaper the Tokyo Shimbun – “The launch is coming closer. The possibility is high that the launch date will be set for April 12 or 13.”

North Korea says the launch is to fire an observation satellite into orbit. The U.S. says it is a cover to test long-range missile technology.

The United States has suspended its food aid plan to the country.
