Hey Steve,

After seeing the recent reader’s warning about using “Veterans” license plates, and your insights on the targeting of veterans, this story jumped right out at me. I work in news (TV production side, not writing), and below is a direct copy & paste from a script in our 6 o’clock show . . .That first line says it all. Why do veterans need to be easier to identify?

(Anchor)
IT WILL NOW BE EASIER TO IDENTIFY VETERANS IN OUR STATE.
(Full Screen)
GOVERNOR NIKKI HALEY AND THE D-M-V…
ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT THERE WILL NOW BE A “VETERAN” DESIGNATION ON DRIVER’S LICENSES, ID CARDS, AND BEGINNERS PERMITS. THE LICENSE WILL FEATURE THE WORD VETERAN BELOW THE PICTURE ID.
YOU HAVE TO HAVE SERVED HONORABLY IN THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE DESIGNATION. YOU WILL NEED A CERTIFICATE OF RELEASE OR DISCHARGE AS PROOF.

RetiredRogue……..As a veteran that joined the Army on Nov. 22nd of 1963. The day JFK was killed in Dallas Texas, I’m not sure that it’s a good idea to have the ”’V” on our tags, driver license or any thing else. That a sure way for the pRESIDENT IN CHIEF to know, THAT I KNOW how to handle, clean, load and fire a weapon. You notice I didn’t say gun. You never in the military call a weapon, A GUN. Also, the government knows most veterans own weapons and ammo. Notice I didn’t write shells, in the military at the ””firing range”” it was NO AMMO, SERGEANT!!! Think about it……..

Keep your weapon clean and powder dry. Amerika seems to be gearing up for something

I’d rather be prepared than not.

As things go, there must be darkness to experience the gift of the light.
And there is a glimmer of hope

yup watch out for the 1 billion or so hollow point rounds from the dod cia and so on

    • Be The Media

Sounds like they want to brand veterans like they branded Jews with armbands for easier identification. Vets are continuously being demonized and targeted as radicals.

Yeah, how dare you vets love freedom? How dare you want to stand up for tyranny? How dare you exercise your 2nd amendment? How dare you exercise your first amendment? How dare you question your government? How dare you love personal liberties?

Just shut up and do as you’re told… now march!

Thanks for the article! pass this article to all the veterans you know so that everyone knows about their latest propaganda!!

This is a suspicious move by officials. Better not tell them anything. Surprise is so much more fun if you need to show your skills. Buy your guns from shows and your buddies…Never let the government know what you have. If they behave, they do not have a problem. If not, sorry about the dead assholes.

Haley is a rabid Obama shill and supporter. I wouldn’t believe her if she told me the Sun is hot and resides 93 million miles from Earth.

    • Pateriot

Really guys? They are not forcing vets to have special tags! This is something that is offered if you are proud of the fact and would like to proclaim this to the World. I am a vet and do not have these plates on my card and probably won’t opt for this. However, it is not because I am afraid to be identified as one. It is because to me it was a duty I owed my country and was not heroic. Of course if I was heroic in the process I would not advertise that either.
Nothing nefarious about plates IDing vets.

Forcing them would be too obvious wouldn’t it?

So they did the 2nd best thing use their pride to compromise their intelligence.

If I was a Pateriot I would trust the guvment too.
If I was a Pateriot I would tell everybodyelse to just do like I do and live like I live and that there’s nothing nefarious about visible identification of anyone. In fact, if I was a Pateriot, yellow stars worn over the heart to signify religious affiliation would seem just fine to me.

        [sarcasm]

I have veteran license plates. I will always stand up for doing the right thing. The fearful have no honor.
Peter 2: 20 For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
