Right now, homeless Americans are literally freezing, wrapped in blankets and trash bags as they struggle to survive in FEMA tent cities such as New Jersey’s “Camp Freedom,” which reportedly “resembles a prison camp.”
“Sitting there last night you could see your breath,” displaced resident Brian Sotelo told the Asbury Park Press. “At (Pine Belt) the Red Cross made an announcement that they were sending us to permanent structures up here that had just been redone, that had washing machines and hot showers and steady electric, and they sent us to tent city. We got (expletived).”
Sotelo said Blackhawk helicopters patrol the skies “all day and night” and a black car with tinted windows surveys the camp while the government moves heavy equipment past the tents at night. According to the story, reporters aren’t even allowed in the fenced complex, where lines of displaced residents form outside portable toilets. Security guards are posted at every door, and residents can’t even use the toilet or shower without first presenting I.D.
“They treat us like we’re prisoners,” Ashley Sabol told Reuters. “It’s bad to say, but we honestly feel like we’re in a concentration camp.”

After over 12 years in TV, I worked for “Mr. Norris” in San Diego on several of his TV and Films, I have never met a more respectful and genuine man. Yes, there are alot of actors which are full of crap. Mr Norris is all heart, down to earth and very real.

They are not being held against their will they can leave whenever they want .

They are patrolled upon like a prison system and all of this is done in such a fashion as to gauge the publics response to these atrocities . No games, TV or reading material, toys for kids. So many people donate stuff like this yet why can they not deliver it?. Let me tell you what folks…I survived Hurricane Rita—what? Don’t remember that one? It was the bad hurricane that came in right after Katrina and got practically no press because everything was focused on poor New Orleans. Well let me tell you…we were glad to see FEMA and we were damn happy to show ID and talk to soldiers that patrolled our streets and handed out food and water. Lot of people would have been totally screwed were it not for the Red Cross and FEMA and the US Army and National Guard. You didn’t hear none of old coonasses belly-aching about living in concentration camps…no sir…’course none of us was looting either…like what happened not too far away in New Orleans. What the East Coast got was bad because they weren’t used to such storms, but the storm itself, was really not that awesome compared to the likes of Rita and a few others that have slammed the Gulf Coast over the years. Katrina wasn’t that bad either…’cept for the flooding caused with the levees broke. Does this omit the damage to people’s homes and lives. Certainly not. To Jersey folks…it’s still catastrophic as hell…more so because such storms don’t usually get that high up nor do that much damage. Gulf Coasters expect hurricanes and most prepare and build to withstand them. But for those residents to bite the hand that is keeping them safe and housing them and feeding them…well that’s pretty crappy. Seriously I doubt many of them are complaining. I fear this article is probably fear mongering at it’s finest as I see little in the way of mainstream news backing this sort of thing up. Nobody who’s been left homeless is going to complain about showing ID to get food and water and a shelter. Common sense. If they do…they don’t deserve it. Choppers and creepy cars? Probably security forces trying to keep looters and a-holes out of the camps to protect the civilians housed there. Nobody wants journalists in there snapping photos of you like you’re a side-show freak. They should keep them out. We didn’t have much for journalists after Rita either.
