I’m as much against the battle against our 2nd Amendment as anyone. However, at the 1 minute 14 second mark of the video, the mayor clearly states that this $1,000 bounty applies to any ‘illegal’ gun that is turned in, not legal guns. The poster shown at that time also clearly states ‘illegal’ guns. With that in mind, as a way to cut down crime, this might just work. Get the illegal guns out of the hands of criminals and folks intent on doing harm to others. What’s wrong with that? It’ll not only protect law enforcement but the community in general. I agree that the anonymous nature of this is ripe for abuse and there are also the financial considerations as cities go broke around the country. Additionally, this shows the way that the govt is going, paying bounties for guns and information. Hitler also paid bounties for information he could use against dissidents. If this $1000 bounty was to be paid for info against lawful gun owners, I’d be outraged.
I pray you are not the First “Legal” gun owner turned in.
Be a good big brother, turn in your neighbor also, if you see them with a hammer. Make the world safe.

In L.A. and some other larger cities with offers of few hundred dollars in food stamps for any gun no questions asked, you starve ‘em out and get their guns for just a few dollars in stamps to buy food…a hungry person would turn anyone in to feed himself or a hungry child, that’s why food storage will be considered hoarding and a crime…time to wake up.
Buy with cash while you can because there is no way of tracking it. whats considered an “illegal”. gun…a firearm that’s not registered with the govt.
