You Train How You Fight

In police training academies, martial arts dojos, and boot camps, some version of the story below is often told. It is probably apocryphal, though I’m sure someone will write me to tell me this actually happened to them, but it’s instructive nonetheless.

An off duty police officer walks into a store, and happens to find himself in the middle of a robbery, with a gun pointed right in his face.  But the cop has trained for this day. Over and over, day after day, he and his partner has trained years for precisely this scenario.   He has trained to quickly disarm a suspect with a trick karate move,  on the off chance that one day it may save his life; and that day has arrived!

Quick as a flash the cop initiates the move and immediately disarms the robber, whereupon the robber suddenly finds himself confronted by his own gun.

At that point, the cop promptly hands the gun back to the robber.

Like I said, the story is likely apocryphal, but it is used as a darkly humorous story all over the world by people who engage in police, martial or military training. The point is this: You fight how you train.

The hapless cop in this story had trained to take a gun away from someone pointing a gun in his face, and every time he finished his move he turned around and handed the gun back to his training partner.  When the time came to do it in real life,  he of course handed the gun back just as he always did, only this time he handed it back to the robber he had just disarmed.

This is why military forces always attempt to ensure that their units have as realistic training as possible. You don’t want your guys at the Point of Contact freezing with indecision. The whole purpose of rote training, over and over in realistic scenarios, is to build muscle memory and eliminate that deviation through the Neo Cortex that a  nerve impulse might have on its way to the fingers.

What are we to make of a reports then, broke by Alex Jones yesterday, that the Department of Homeland “Security” (LOL!) has bought $2 million worth of paper targets with pictures of pregnant women, old men, and little boys?

If you have been paying attention to reality (i.e. not the Whore Media) you already know what to think about it.

This is the same group of people who have now bought $2 BILLION worth of bullets of various calibers (though mostly 40 caliber hollow point).

It is the same group of people who are now claiming that “domestic terror” is the greatest threat to the “Homeland”(which may be true if you count the DHS itself).

It is the same group of people that are conducting mock military assaults on various American cities.

It is the same group of people that are creating 85 billion dollars in Federal debt every month, sending it to over seas banks, and then forcing the American taxpayers to pay for this debt that never bought anything in or for America.

It is the same group of people that are now planning to initiate DRONE STRIKES ON AMERICANS!

It is the same group of people who are working feverishly to take away our guns and render us defenseless in the face of their murder squads.

How do I know? Because you train how you fight.

These people aren’t training to fight Arabs, or Somalian “skinnies” or Chinese or Russians troops. They are training to fight us.  They are buying up and shooting pictures of us.

These people hate us, they are our enemies, and they mean to kill us.
