DHS Solicits For More Various Caliber Ammunition

Ammunition is in short supply. The demand has increased dramatically which takes its toll on the market. However, the Department of Homeland Security doesn’t seem to be affected by the demand at all. In fact, it’s got over $37 million of tax payer money to spend on brass and lead for fiscal year 2013 and it’s soliciting again for nearly 90,000 round in various calibers. This is in addition to their own claims of having more than 260 million rounds of ammunition back in November 2012.
According to the solicitation (HSFLAR-13-Q-00019), DHS is ordering ammunition in .45 long Colts, .45 ACP, .22LR, 30-30, 12 gauge shotgun shells, 410 gauge shotgun shells, .357, and 7.69x39mm. That’s quite a spread for DHS.
The solicitation lays out the quantities for each of the calibers ordered:
.45 Long Colt – 4,000 rounds
45 ACP – 20,000 rounds
22LR – 40,000 rounds
30-30 – 4,680 rounds
12 Gauge #8 birdshot – 20,000
410 Gauge #9 – 10,000
.357 Magnum – 6,000
7.69x39mm – 5,000
Granted, the number of ammunition is down considerably on this order, but it is going out to Artesia, New Mexico, the same as the last order of 360,000 .40 caliber hollow points. The previous month that particular training center got 240,000 hollow points.

They meaning the Obama administration can’t get anything done in congress so he turns to the govt. contract with ammo makers to spend our money tryint to force ammo prices out the roof. He is stocking ammo for the coming war against US citizens. I wish the ammo makers would throttle the govt. and refuse to sell to them.
I wish i could say he was collecting rounds to make sure if a war came to our shores he’d have ammo to give the citizens to protect themselves. However i don’t know if he would ever buy anything for us common folk.
These calibers are the common non-LEO that most ordinary people have. I can see DHS trying to dry up the already low supply. If it is not available, it won’t be out there to worry about.

There is no way in hell that they are using 410 shotguns for security threats!!! That’s Obviosly their way to take our guns away, by depleting our citizens supply! They are planning for war with Americans, and you are a freaking idiot if you don’t see it now! They don’t know that if their low paid DHS idiots will not shoot Americans, and that we have more than enough bullets stockpiled to take those Mother F-er’s in DC out of this world if they attempt to start shooting at the people that they are supposed to be working for!

It is still undecided if and when they are going buy up all the 22 caliber rounds.
Some sub-agency in DHinS doesn’t want to go mainstream and are keeping their ol’ firearms.
This ammo purchase doesn’t make sense. Funny that most of these calibers aren’t mainstream and still available locally, unlike 5.56/9mm/40sw….
45LC…. for their single action revolvers and lever action rifles. Somebody wants to play ‘cowboy’. Probably for the same ‘revolver’ that shoots the 410 round too. Guessing Park Police or Forestry service and the outdoorsy type of employee.
30-30… for their level action rifles.
45acp for the Tommy Gun since they cloned Capone and gave him a job at DHinS
22lr…. great way to fill up those 50-100 magazines for plinking gov’t property, like computers/furniture, instead of auctioning it off to the public. Great for making holes in paperwork and more fun than shredding.
12gauge/410…. you can’t expect them not to go hunting while clocked in. Most likely for the forestry service doing pest bird kills, rabies kills, … Park ranger rounds!
357magnum…. huh…. another great revolver/lever round. Makes you wonder who at DHinS is so nostalgic. I’m guess that someone wants a reliable powerful revolver when being charged by mama bear.
7.62×39…. so that they can play with all the confiscated from drug lords fun toys from Asia and Europe
Glad that they didn’t grab any 20 gauge, which is in quantity everywhere.
I guess that DHinS has some redneck employees that refuse to carry the ‘norm’ PD/LEO calibers. Sad to say that they ALL are my fallback calibers and was the ‘last’ to disappear from the ammo store shelves. I’m glad that 44-special wasn’t ordered.
It is high time for the ammo manufacturers to NOT honor these contracts. The DHS is going to use this ammo to destroy and control the American people. The DHS is Americas enforcement agency to work with the United Nations.
