More grist for the conspiracy mill – except the way this thing is going, conspiracy may be the least of our worries.
Top IRS officials, whose agency was under investigation for targeting conservative groups, visited the Obama White House more than 100 times over two years while the probe was going on, far more often than in previous administrations and frequently enough that Republicans suspect White House officials knew about the targeting.
Lawmakers now investigating the Internal Revenue Service practice zeroed in on those nearly weekly White House meetings to determine whether an IRS official — or someone higher up in the administration — had approved the targeting and whether it was politically motivated.
The frequent meetings also raised questions about the White House’s claims that it couldn’t have instigated the targeting of conservative groups because it took a hands-off approach to the tax agency, going so far as to describe it as independent of the administration even though it’s part of the Treasury Department.

Until now we haven’t had this large of a number of 501(4)c’s masquerading as “social welfare” organizations.
The majority of them are conservative groups trying to get Republicans elected into the Senate, House and the presidency, in clear violation of the law.

There is nothing illegal about trying to raise money to fund for the party you support. BUT IT IS ILLEGAL for a government agency to single people out and break the LAW by intentionally impeding a corporation. This does not matter whether it is Democratic or Republican support entity or even a little corner store. There has to be a point where WE hold the government accountable for their actions.

But don’t let THEM convince you that the Republicans can do it better because the reality is it will all be the same. Obama has kept the war machine going, refuses to close Guantanamo, corporate profits are the highest in history, jobs still going overseas, offshore tax accounts by corporations are not being touched, military contractors making all time high profits, Isreal’s war crimes are defended by this administration, and on and on, yup sounds like a Republican dream come true to me!

One thing I can agree with the WH response is they really are not in charge of the IRS. The IRS is a division of the Treasury which is overseen by the IMF. IRS is a for profit private debt collection agency for the IMF. That is why they let the not incharge of slip up go, because it is nothing more than the hammer for any administration and has been used for political purposes since it’s inception. I have no love for the current admin but that part is the only truth in the statement. Don’t believe it google IRS, treasury and IMF see for yourself
