Gallup Poll: Virtually No One Trusts the Mainstream Media
The results are in: virtually no one trusts the scripted mainstream media. We’ve known it for years, but a new Gallup poll shows that a whopping 77% of Americans distrust mainstream media television.
Only a bit more ‘trustworthy’ than Congress, which scored in at a record low of 90% saying they do not trust the government body, the Gallup poll details that only 23% of viewers actually trust the mainstream media television news. A reality that has been clear as day in light of blatant mainstream media blackouts on key events like the outrageous DHS ‘Fourth Amendment free‘ zones that stretch up to 100 miles out from every single border of the US, to the blackout over eyewitness reports at the Boston Marathon.
I recently spoke with the legendary Lew Rockwell on the decline of the mainstream media on his radio show, discussing how the media completely fears the power of the alternative news community:
A New Era of News Has Arrived
The mainstream media is on its last breath, and they are already scurrying to secure phony ‘alternative news’ websites in a bid to stay afloat, but the new era of news 2.0 is already here. And in this new paradigm of content consumption, reality is king. We’re talking about a model in which one person with a smart phone can generate millions of views on YouTube by filming a protest or civil rights violation. No longer are people required to tune into their nightly news programs to hear the ‘latest’ news.
Today, instant aggregation exists on platforms like Drudge Report, and exclusive news leaks are available here at Storyleak — many of which are exclusives that the mainstream media wishes they could get their hands on. One such example is the Boston Marathon bombing witness I referenced earlier, who happened to call me back over the multitudes of mainstream press agencies that had been desperately trying to get a hold of him. The mainstream media is afraid of the new media, they are afraid of you. Where it is true all of main stream media is not relevant any longer to many individuals in the US there still are a large number of individuals who are totally asleep. They don’t have a clue and unfortunately I don’t know what can be done. Education is not the determining factor, its basically their awareness of what is happening right in front of their face. It’s the same issue with several “eye witness’s” who see the same event but yet will report completely different versions of the event. Their “belief systems are a filter to the event taking place. They will be asleep until they wakeup or die.
But for those of us at are able to see and understand what is taking place in the US and World alternative new is a fresh breath of air. Keep up the good work and take the high road. The old corrupt news outlets will eventually die all on their own, just cease to exist!
The people are awake. They would rather have an enemy run their lives than have to take responsibility. Actually the sheep need to be culled.
People are not as stupid as the MSM or the current administration think. They can see through a lot of the hype from the government and bias in the MSM. The problem with MSM is not the reporters themselves, but management which edits which stories are aired and which are not. Not one MSM broke any of the four major scandals if this administration. What happened to he investigative journalism of the Watergate era? With so much opinion being mixed in with the news, is it any wonder why Americans don’t trust MSM? With so many lies out there and blatant hyppocracy, is it any wonder why the people don’t trust the government. Trust has to be earned and deserved.
I’m not sure how anyone can blame those that don’t trust the MSM. All watchers get from them is rhetoric, not news. They watch Williams, Sawyer and the other mutt blather on and on but tell them nothing that isn’t politically slanted left. The truth is withheld if there is a chance that some liberal politician will be damaged.
Then the people turn to FOX and find out what their elected government officials, the candidates that they sent to DC and capitol houses to represent them, are doing to them. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. If you want to find out what is happening and it may have a political slant that affects the left avoid the three major outlets. They will not tell you.
That isn’t the end of the insult though. Further down the sewer line, you have guys like Joe Scarborough with the blonde bobble head next to him and that white haired pansy, Cooper, who just came out of the closet to announce that he was marrying another degenerate (as if no one suspected) hosting shows that should seriously discuss the issues. As it turns out only a fool would listen to those people and only that those that can be classified as certifiable idiots believe anything they say.
Even further down the sewer line are the bottom feeders that are there only for low brow entertainment like that brit on CNN, piers morgan (to capitalize his name would imply respect) and the other justice brother, sharpton, who, every time he opens his mouth the stench of Twana Brawley and the Duke lacrosse case wafts out.
Given the choices, can anyone wonder why there is no trust for the MSM?
Well it only took over 6 years for the rest of the nation to catch on that the Main Stream Media has been in Obama and the Liberal Americ’s corner all along…

What “very important things” Aren’t being covered? President Obama using spicy mustard?
The major point of this interview is that the MSM keeps us deeply divided by controlling perceptions and values. Learned this early on when my conservative editor wanted me to tweak my story. Even though I was conservative at the time, my basic integrity was still threatened as a reporter.
If you’ve found that the general love for truth and integrity has been compromised in this cultures splintered into sub-cultures, the onus can be laid on the heads of the MSM (and alternative trolls). They’ve been chipping away at basic human integrity and molding perception for 100+ years. As Marshall McLuhan said, “The medium is the message.” IOW, subtle changes to the larger living context emerge but mostpeople don’t notice.
People have always gathered at the town square or the market place to find out what’s going on beyond themselves. Couple that with the rise of Psychology — trying to figure ourselves out — and the MSM became the Bully Pulpit for a skewed faith.
That’s not likely to change anytime soon in this, the Information Age — all the drama, like a drug, is too exciting to dismiss. We are now experiencing the Law of Diminishing Returns but we keep on because we want to see how it all ends.
The MSM operates as a very, very powerful tool hiding behind the skirts of the First Amendment. In that regard, we can’t dismantle it without dismantling our own rights.
However, we can vote with our discernment, our dollars and our whistles.
That is great news ! Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It corrupts the most powerful with false pride; it corrupts the least powerful with self pity. Only by the grace of God have we been spared. Let us not fall into the trap of seeking revenge on those inflicted with false pride or self pity.

What’s wrong with the other 23%?
Come on guys. Don’t make your ignorance so obvious. To start with, the poll isn’t saying that 77% of the public distrust mainstream media. It’s saying that 23% have significant trust in that media. It doesn’t specify how many still have “some faith” there.
And you can lay off your claims of great awakenings. If you check the figures you’ll notice that the proportion of people having faith in the mainstream HAS ACTUALLY INCREASED from last year.
What’s more, has nobody noticed that faith in the police and military has actually increased as well? Any interpretations on that?
What I’d love to know is how many people fall for the Illuminati sponsored propaganda as spewed forth by the mind control experts such as Alex Jones and David Icke.
