Your Computer Is Bugging Your House

by J. Christian Adams
The computer you are sitting at right now probably has a microphone. It probably also has a camera looking at you this moment. Is it sending sound and pictures from inside your house to the PRISM program at NSA?
Who knows? But one thing is for sure — the technology is sitting there, on your desk. Welcome to Winston’s world.
Yesterday we crossed a line. What once seemed kooky is now happening. I figured this would be a fight for a future generation, but it is ours. The frightening future has arrived.
The American government has never done anything as sinister as PRISM. No, Korematsu’s camps were awful, but Oceania really was at war with East Asia. Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote a thoughtful and detailed legal discussion which everyone should read before they ever again mention the relocation of Japanese in World War II.

I disable my webcam and soundcard (Meaning Microphone) drivers with a batch file command line when not in use. At night I disconnect TCP/IP as well..
My computer is my TV and entertainment system. So, when I log off.. I am simply watching the Other 42″ monitor and have something on WITHOUT COMMERCIALS that I like.
Just RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER ICON..
GOTO Properties.. Device Manager..
Find your webcam and Disable.. Do not remove.. DISABLE
When needed.. Enable it again.. Same applies with soundcard..
To quickly disconnect from the NET..
Make a new .TEXT doc on your desktop and rename it to whateverYouwant.BAT with a .BAT.. not >TXT extension. EDIT that file and enter
ipconfig /release
pause
ipconfig /renew
Nothing else..
Click it and POOF.. You are offline..
Do not hit continue on the DOS window that opens until ready to connect online again.
what sort of idiot are you? that batch command will not disconnect you from the internet..
ohhh sorry… i didnt read the last line properly.
i apologise..
still better ways to do it than having to have a dos box open all the time..
Like.. Unplug your RJ-45? LOL
Juss saying.. Apology accepted..
-Peace
“Like.. Unplug your RJ-45? LOL”
depends on your system as to the best way… but yes.. in a lot of cases.. pull the plug.. simple.
though if your that worried about being online.. maybe just throw away the computer..
LOL, your cool man. You tried but the worlds weight lays heavy on your mind and stuff like this trips the light fantastic into the realm of well meaning mistakes.
I used that BAT code to clean my ip, renew it, flush the dns beside other stuff.
Lol, you can go into whatever settings you like and “disable” whatever you like, that doesn’t mean that it is disabled from the backend. It just means that it no longer has functionality for you. It is still possible, probable even, that government agencies and their contractors can still easily turn your mic and cam on without you ever even knowing it. In fact, it is much more likely that these sensors are in fact recording by default and can trigger an analyst for review. Much worse though, is that PRISM was storing all of this information and so if someone in the government ever has a beef with you (such as running for office, voting the wrong way in elections or simple political activism), they can simply go through your “file” and know every single thing about you. These agencies are given backdoors in servers from the leading tech companies (Apple, Microisoft, Google, etc…) and allowed to have full control. Look, the NSA didn’t build the world’s biggest data storage center in Utah for nothing. Ever since learning about this data storage center last year, I have been warning folks that this means they are likely planning on storing massive amounts of high resolution video. Otherwise, there is no need for such massive amounts of data storage. Audio doesn’t take up too much space.
If I need to have a private conversation I just walk into the den and pull out the tiny little plug in wire on the little black box (modem) and I am off line. Very simple indeed. This also resets my IP address. Just sayin!
Putting a piece of tape over the webcam was easy to do.
Does unplugging the plug in wire on the modem reset to a different IP address?
Today, many new computers are coming with built in wireless adapters. So there will be no plug to pull. Your router can be unplugged as can your modem, but your system may try to connect to the neighbors wireless instead.
In addition to the wireless issue is the built in keylogger your system already has. No you wont find it in the system try, Linux and mac’s are no defense for it. This little bastard lives in your keyboard. You can’t take it out, but if you know it’s there, then when the PTB come for you, you can toss the old kb onto the bbq and at least save a little privacy.
If you want to check ALL of your computers tcp connections, ipconfig /all will show them to you, and netstat -an in the command box will show you who is actually connected to you.
Too bad Obama doesn’t spend more time monitoring his military that openly admit to wanting to kill people!

My brand spanking new SMART TV has two covert hidden cameras in the edges. Guess they want it all in stereo. I cut the power to my squealer tv when not watching anything. Oh ya, my new bluray wants to get out on the net when I turn it on also.
Just physically unplug the darn webcam which contains Video and Audio.
Dont disable it in your Program Big brother knows how to hack that.l
