Below is a statement by Jamal Ahmed al-Tahiri, the spokesman for Al-Qaeda in Damascus (AQD), rejecting false and baseless reports in the so-called global alternative media that it was behind the chemical weapons attack at Ghouta on August 21, 2013.

In the Name of Allah the Merciful, America the Accursed, Aslam O’ Alikum,

My dear brothers and sisters, there are false reports on the Internet and YouTube that our sacred warriors in Al-Qaeda were behind the chemical weapons attack at Ghouta on August 21.

An article published in MintPress News, which is dubious in both origin and content, by journalists Dale Gavlak and Yahya Ababneh, emboldened the devilish accusers against Al-Qaeda. They seized on this article like rabid dogs with no meat in their bellies, seeking to ruin the good name of Al-Qaeda.

These wretched liars even deny our greatest achievement of September 11. They mock us, saying cavemen could not accomplish such a spectacular feat against the world’s greatest and most ruthless empire, but this just shows that they don’t know anything. They will even deny the light of the sun if you take them out of their caves for one second. They are the real cavemen. We are the holy warriors of Allah! Cursed be the United States, and the conspiratorial accusers who deny us our holy victories and attribute the crimes of tyrants to our glorious fighters.

The destruction of our reputation with lies and false accusations cannot be allowed. Not under the sight of Allah. This so-called “global alternative media” is the work of Satan. His hand is behind this new media’s rise. We can provide proof.

Our beloved prince, the great Prince Bandar bin Sultan who liberated Afghanistan from the cruel fists of the Soviets, has also been dragged into this boiling water, with similar false accusations and diabolical news reports connecting him to chemical weapons.

The current incarnation of the atheistic Soviet Union, cursed be its name and history, is placing blame away from Bashar the dog and saying that the opposition is using chemical weapons. This goes against the facts. This goes against all available and verifiable data. This goes against all logic.

These accusatory devils, and Putin is highest among them since he is their hero, look away when Assad’s bloody hands are seen on social media videos twisting the cap off a poison gas container. They say things like, “It wasn’t Assad hands that was doing the twisting, somebody was maneuvering his hands from behind against his will.” These are lies. They are mocking the intelligence of the world.

Assad must not get away with the criminal use of chemical weapons on women and children. AQD’s red line is also Obama’s red line. Our red lines interconnect and make one great, powerful, and undeniable red line. This red line is the world’s red line, not Obama’s, or AQD’s, as the majestic, mighty, and magnificent leader said himself in Stockholm on Wednesday, September 4.

This red line is an unconquerable red line. This red line has taken on a mysterious power that, if protected and defended with determination and strength, will put fear in the cold heart of Bashar the dog and his fellow travelers.
