ROYAL RITUALS

From one of the articles of Life Magazine, some decades ago:

The caption under the photo of the then Princess Elizabeth meeting up with those dressed in robes reads:

Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) in a robe of green is led by an acolyte to Archdruid Crwys Williams, who will initiate her into the Mystic Circle of Bards at the national Eisteddfod, or festival, at Mountain Ash, Glamorgan, Wales, August 6, 1946. Men and women who have made a significant and lasting contribution to Welsh culture are sometimes initiated or ceremonially welcomed into Druidical mysteries.

However, modern Druidism is believed to be nothing more than Atonism, and a far cry from the original, ancient Druidism.

In Welsh medieval legend, Ceridwen was an enchantress. She is the mother of a hideous son, Morfran, and a beautiful daughter, Creirwy. Her husband was Tegid Foel, and they lived near Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) in north Wales. Medieval Welsh poetry refers to her as possessing the cauldron of Poetic Inspiration (Awen) and the Tale of Taliesin recounts her swallowing her servant Gwion Bach who is then reborn through her as the poet Taliesin. Ceridwen is regarded by modern Wiccans as the Celtic goddess of rebirth, transformation, and inspiration.

Ceridwen was also known as the Welsh serpent goddess respected by the Pheryllt priesthood.  The name possibly refers to “crooked woman”, and it is a reference to either constellations – Ursa Minor or Draco.

The Pheryllt priesthood corresponds to the Druids.

The Pheryllt were the legendary Priests of Pharon, an extremely ancient god, whose worshippers were said to be the inhabitants of the Lost Continent of Atlantis.  Accordingly, the myth, as told within the Pheryllt text, relates: when Atlantis disappeared “in a single day and night of misfortune,” many of its Sun-Priests washed ashore onto the Western banks of Wales – the one country most often referred to as the “homestead of Druidism,” and there re-established their highly insightful and advanced religion.  To the Druids, then, this legendary Priesthood represented the roots of their own religion – their ancestors so to speak.  This could also explain why the Druids revered the mountain of Snowdonia (Yr Wyddfa: the tallest peak in Wales) to the extent that they did, for it was upon the roots of this mountain that the Pheryllt Priesthood was said to have had its chief sanctuary.  And furthermore, there does exist at the very spot indicated, the remains of an immense circular building of stone, the origins of which continue to baffle even today’s experts. The Pheryllt would have occupied Britain during a time which historians have dubbed Megalithic, or Neolithic (New Stone Age) – a period which was characterised by the building of innumerable massive stone and earth-work constructions: the megaliths, of which Stonehenge is the best-known surviving example.  Others are: Silbury Hill, Glastonbury Tor, Avebury, New Grange, Maes Howe, Callanish, Brodgar, Carnac, and others.

Gnadir/Adder – Originates from the Gaelic word “Naddred”.  This refers to the Druids.  In my first book, Humanity’s Biggest Secrets, I discuss the seven Root Races.  The second root race was the Hyperborean race.  These beings resided on the continent of Hyperborea – what is now Northern Europe.

It is believed that the end of Hyperborea resulted in its residence relocating to the Isles.  These residents (and survivors of Hyperborea) – the Druids, did not refer to themselves as such.  The name “Druid” was a Gaelic term “Druthin”, which was given to them by others. “Druthin” means “Servant of truth”.  The Druids referred to themselves as the “Naddreds” – which is Gaelic for “Serpent Priests.”  The Druids/Naddreds held the symbol of the serpent and  dragon with the utmost respect and as the symbol of royalty.

The priests of the Mysteries were symbolised as a serpent, sometimes called Hydra…The Serpent Kings reigned over the earth.  It was these Serpent Kings who founded the Mystery schools which later appeared as the Egyptian and Brahmin Mysteries…The serpent was their symbol…They were the true Sons of Light, and from them have descended a long line of adepts and initiates.

The Druids were priests and physicians, curing by magnetism and charging amulets with their fluidic influence.  Their universal remedies were mistletoe and serpents’ eggs, because these substances attract the astral light in a special manner.  The solemnity with which mistletoe was cut down drew upon this plant the popular confidence and rendered it powerfully magnetic.

Both the cross and he serpent were sacred to the Druids, who made the former by cutting off all the branches of an oak tree and fastening one of them to the main trunk in the form of the letter T.  This oaken cross became symbolic of their superior Deity.  They also worshipped the sun, moon and stars.  The moon received their special veneration.  Caesar stated that Mercury was one of the chief deities of the Gauls.  The Druids are believed to have worshipped Mercury under the similitude of a stone cube.  They also had great veneration for the Nature spirits (fairies, gnomes, and undines), little creatures of the forests and rivers to whom many offerings were made.  Describing the temples of the Druids, Charles Heckethorn, in The Secret Societies of All Ages & Countries, says: 

“Their temples wherein the sacred fire was preserved were generally situate on eminences and in dense groves of oak, and assumed various forms – circular, because a circle was the emblem of the universe; oval, in allusion to the mundane egg, form which issued, according to the traditions of many nations, the universe, or, according to others, our first parents; serpentine, because a serpent was the symbol of Hu, the Druidic Osiris; cruciform, because a cross is an emblem of regeneration; or winged, to represent the motion of the Divine Spirit.  Their chief deities were reducible to two – a male and a female, the great father and mother – Hu and Ceridwen, distinguished by the same characteristics as belong to Osiris and Isis, Bacchus and Ceres, or any other supreme god and goddess representing the two principles of all Being.”

Both the cross and the serpent were Atlantean emblems of divine wisdom.

The mythologies of many nations contain accounts of gods who “came out of the sea.”  Certain shamans among the American Indians tell of holy men dressed in birds’ feathers and wampum who rose out of the blue waters and instructed them in the arts and crafts.  Among the legends of the Chaldeans is that of Oannes [discussed in Humanity’s Biggest Secrets], a partly amphibious creature who came out of the sea and taught the savage peoples along the shore to read and write, till the soil, cultivate herbs for healing, study the stars, establish rational forms of government, and become conversant with the sacred Mysteries.  Among the Mayas, Quetzalcoatl, the Savior-God (whom some Christian scholars believe to have been St. Thomas), issued from the waters and, after instructing the people in the essentials of civilisation, rode out to sea on a magic raft of serpents to escape the wrath of the fierce god of the Fiery Mirror, Tezcatlipoca. 

May it not have been that these demigods of a fabulous age who, Esdras-like, came out of the sea were Atlantean priests? All that primitive man remembered of the Atlanteans was the glory of their golden ornaments, the transcendency of their wisdom, and the sanctity of their symbols – the cross and the serpent.  That they came in ships was soon forgotten, for untutored minds considered even boats as supernatural.  Wherever the Atlanteans proselyted they erected pyramids and temples patterned after the great sanctuary in the City of the Golden Gates.  Such is the origin of the pyramids of Egypt, Mexico, and Central America.  The mounds in Normandy and Britain, as well as those of the American Indians, are remnants of a similar culture.  In the midst of the Atlantean program of world colonisation and conversion, the cataclysms which sank Atlantis began.  The Initiate-Priests of the Sacred Feather who promised to come back to their missionary settlements never returned; and after the lapse of centuries tradition preserved only a fantastic account of gods who came from a place where the sea now is.

H.P. Blavatsky thus sums up the causes which precipitated the Atlantean disaster.  “Under the evil insinuations of their demon, Thevetat, the Atlantis-race became a nation of wicked magicians.  In consequence of this, war was declared, the story of which would be too long to narrate; its substance may be found in the disfigured allegories of the race of Cain, the giants, and that of Noah and his righteous family.  The conflict came to an end by the submersion of the Atlantis; which finds its imitation in the stories of the Babylonian and Mosaic flood: The giants and magicians and all flesh died and every man.  All except Xisuthrus and Noah, who are substantially identical with the great Father of the Thlinkithians in the Popol Vuh, or the sacred book of the Guatemaleans, which also tells us of his escaping in a large boat, like the Hindu Noah – Vaiswasvata.”

Note:  During the fall of Atlantis, the war between the white magicians and the black magicians continued until the end of Atlantis.  According to Blavatsky’s writings, the capital city of the Atlanteans was called The City of the Golden Gates.  During the period of Atlantis when it was ruled by the Toltecs (ancestors of the Amerindians), the civilisation of Atlantis was at its height.  The Toltes on Atlantis worshipped the Sun in grand temples.  Just as the Hindus of India (originally the Aryan) have their sacred word in meditation “Om”, the Toltecs had theirs – “Tau”.  It is believed that the Toltecs colonised the entirety of North America and South America, hence becoming the people we know as the Amerindians.
