Car Crisis-CV Axle Joint Just Went Out on SUV

This morning, I was preparing to go to the post office to mail some more thank you cards, a Mexican blanket to a precious woman in Florida, and a children’s Bible and books to a little person in NM. But as I pulled out, I heard a tremendous repeat clanking sound beneath the engine, seemingly near the wheel.

I immediately pulled back into the parking place and and called local Chevy dealership and repair service.

The service repair man said it sounded like the CV axle joint, which is a common problem in older Chevy Tahoe vehicles.

I asked the service manager how much it generally costs to get this axle replaced. He looked it up on the computer, and replied that with  a preliminary diagnostic, parts and labor it would run anywhere from $800.00 to $1000.00.

I then spent time researching various websites to diagnose the strange sounds and behavior, and realized that he was undoubtedly correct.

Of course, for me, this was a real set-back.  I had just mentioned to my readers in an earlier report that I was in need of urgent support just to meet basic needs…and now this.

However, I have been praising God all morning long over this.

The Bible says God dwells in the praises of His people! The Bible says, in EVERYTHING give thanks for this IS the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you!

What did the Apostle Paul do when arrested for his testimony and thrown into prison and beaten? He praised God through Jesus Christ!

And look how God moved as a result! God does not move through our grumbling and complaining over life’s circumstances.

God moves through the praises of His people, in which He dwells. And so John and I are praising Him here at his nursing home over this unexpected crisis. We are looking to Almighty God for the answer!

On a practical note, financial support is desperately needed to restore my home on the road. But the good news is, I also have some wonderful items I can send to readers for emergency financial support.

For you antique collectors of musical instruments, I have a delightful antique GERMAN ACCORDION with leather case and straps, a HOHNER brand from the 1930′s. It still plays!

I used it to play Christmas carols as we went door-to-door singing last Christmas. It can easily be shipped UPS to any CONUS address.

I also have an immediate post-war German BEERSTEIN, cobalt blue and beige, bas-relief, from the WESTERWALD  German manufacturing company.

It is about 14 inches high with a pewter top. It has all the traditional beer stein authenticity markings, both on the bottom and inside the pewter lid.

But THIS beer stein has something even MORE, that makes it s highly desirable collector’s item, even museum quality.

Under the pewter lid in bold numerals are the numbers “88″. What is the significance of this? You will find the answer intriguing.

After the Nazis lost WWII, the Germans were forbidden to give any kind of heil salute or reference to Hitler or the Nazi party. It was made illegal.

The way that German post-war Nazis got around this was to invent secret codes using letters, symbols and numbers. A very popular underground Nazi method of saying “Heil Hitler” was to use the code numbers “88.” You see, “H” is the 8th letter of the alphabet.

And so the code “88″ always stood for “Heil Hitler” in the Nazi underground in postwar Germany.

I know this is true personally because of my research in Germany for 6 months in 2001. I noticed with fascination one article in the German newspaper, an article about police raiding a t-shirt shop in Bavaria. Puzzled, I continued to read the article.

The police seized the t-shirts because they all had “88″ on them! Huh? Why?

The article revealed that “88″ is a secret code among Nazis for “Heil Hitler”! Ahhh…NOW I get it!

SO when I noticed the large “88″ under the pewter lid of this particular beer stein, I realized immediately that the producer of this was in fact a part of the underground Nazi movement in post-war Germany.

We used to have many beer steins in our home, since our family had lived in post-war Germany for 3 1/2 years after the war.

NOT ONE of our beer steins ever had “88″ under the pewter lid, ever. When I called a well-known beer stein collector in America to mention this, he said that this was very rare indeed. And so, this makes it a true collector’s item, and even a Nazi post war museum piece.

All the above items have the potential for great resale value, or are valuable to keep for personal use and decor. I am now making these items available for donation, well below cost, so that readers who donate to repair my SUV, will be blessed with quality items as well.

As I have stated previously, I am not in ministry for money. I never planned for this vehicle breakdown to occur. I never wanted to have to mention any more needs at this time.

This present and unexpected crisis today with my SUV breaking down, is a valid need for financial support to repair it as soon as possible. As you already know, my SUV is my only home and transportation.

John just told me that he wants to also provide one of his electric guitars for obtaining donations to repair my SUV. Now, THAT is something!

He knows that God can always replace material things, and just wants to be a loving little brother….I could cry. How nice it is to have a precious little brother, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, who cares this much.

How very different he is now, from  the unsaved brother who once brought his family great heartache in the past. This is what Jesus does for people: He changes lives!

So there you have it in a nutshell. Praise God for this present crisis! In everything God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. Thank you Father God for working in this as well.
