Mainstream Media Blackout: Maine Second State To Pass GMO Labeling Law (Videos)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(N.Morgan) Maine is the second state to sign a GMO labeling bill, along with Connecticut. However, you probably heard very little or nothing at all about this. Monsanto doesn’t want anyone to know about it.

Only 2 news mainstream media outlets covered this story and that was Washington Post Blog and Grist. The Grist gave their article a rather skewed title. (Maine’s loony Tea Party governor signs GMO-labeling law)

I stopped posting from one of the farm publications, because they were urging farmers to embrace GMOs and trying very hard to convince the farmers of how safe these monsters organisms are.

Has everyone forgotten about the exploding watermelons in China? Oh yeah, they were those safe, GMO seeds/pesticides, remember?

See video below for a reminder.

As the Kennebec Journal points out:

Proponents of the bill said the provision would quell concerns about an almost-certain lawsuit by industry groups and Monsanto, which vowed to challenge the laws in Maine and Connecticut on the basis that they violate the free speech and interstate commerce provisions of the U.S. Constitution.

So, the big Monster companies, like Monsanto make all the rules and laws. Many states are afraid of being sued by Monster Monsanto, instead of being afraid for their citizens health and well being.

Hooray for you Maine! Screw BIG FARM and their GMOs! Stop punishing the family farms and killing off our NATURAL sources of God given food to make a buck.

      • Nicole Morgan (Investigative Reporter)

Nope, only the 2 I could find covered it and now me..

They (Monsanto) want to keep this quiet.

The states need to grow a pair and stop being afraid to stand up to these corporations.

These GMO companies are the same as the Elitist, all the same, just an extension. They are attacking the front lines, and now coming in on the flanks……there is some evil going on………..So evil it is tough to even talk about it…..MSM is bought, and paid for, they do not even realize they are looked at like slime by the evil that plays them as fools. They are played like an instrument fine tuned to tell noting, while all along selling junk worthless items at their masters bidding.

      BE AWARE

    • alrighty then

The Washington Post covered it yesterday:

      http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2014/01/10/maine-becomes-second-state-to-require-gmo-labels/

Interestingly, there’s a stipulation on both bills. Maine’s bill won’t be “activated” until 5 other nearby states pass similar bills. Connecticut’s bill won’t kick in until northeastern states with a combined total of 20 million residents pass similar bills. This is in order to have a “broad base of support”. Sad that they have to do this, but with the Monsanto bully, that’s just reality. So if you live in the northeast and are concerned about GMOs, well…you’d better start cracking.
