As trust in the federal government erodes amid unlawful the wiretapping of reporters and targeting of conservatives by the Internal Revenue Service, we must not forget about the tremendous number of arms being purchased by the Department of Homeland Security.

However, in addition to the 2,700 urban-assault vehicles, major gun purchases and 2 billion rounds of hollow-point ammunition, the federal government just may have an agent working right in your community, and it’s someone who you would never suspect.

In August 2007, a very troubling report emerged, stating that members of the clergy have been enrolled in a federal education program, which teaches them how to “quell dissent” amongst their congregations. So-called Clergy Response Teams are being trained by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to convince people to follow government orders, in the event of martial law.

KSLA reported:

Dr. Durell Tuberville serves as chaplain for the Shreveport Fire Department and the Caddo Sheriff’s Office. Tuberville said of the clergy team’s mission, “the primary thing that we say to anybody is, ‘let’s cooperate and get this thing over with and then we’ll settle the differences once the crisis is over.’”

Such clergy response teams would walk a tight-rope during martial law between the demands of the government on the one side, versus the wishes of the public on the other. “In a lot of cases, these clergy would already be known in the neighborhoods in which they’re helping to diffuse that situation,” assured Sandy Davis. He serves as the director of the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

For the clergy team, one of the biggest tools that they will have in helping calm the public down or to obey the law is the bible itself, specifically Romans 13. Dr. Tuberville elaborated, “because the government’s established by the Lord, you know. And, that’s what we believe in the Christian faith. That’s what’s stated in the scripture.”

So, next Sunday, when you shake your pastor’s hand as you’re leaving church…you just might be shaking the hand of a government agent.

The evidence that we the people, are at risk of being placed under martial law, and losing all of our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution has become rather overwhelming.

Thirty years ago, we enjoyed the benefits of a press which took their responsibility to the public very seriously. Any signs pointing to the implementation of martial law and criminal actions committed by the federal government would have drawn the attention of our journalists.

However, in the age of “imbedded reporters,” and 90-minute network infomercials complete with anchors promoting government healthcare, our press has a much-too cozy relationship with those in government. A complicit press is making it very easy for our government to erode civil liberties.

I went to BSF (bible study fellowship) today which meets at Grace Bible every Wednesday morning. Our group leader discussed that we will be having lockdown drills in the coming weeks, she was visibly disturbed when discussing this. Each leader was given white butcher paper and a roll of tape to carry in their tote bag to each meeting in case an event occurs. We are to practice hiding in a corner of our room and locking the door and covering the windows and door with the white paper. I am wondering what spurred this preparation. BSF is a large organization internationally and we have over 600 members in Bozeman. I will call my leader and see if I can find out where this is coming from.

I guess it is a sign of the times. Come Lord quickly.
