The mother of all climate reports is so scary that one of its authors resigned from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in protest. “Farmers are not stupid,” the Sussex University economist Richard Tol said this past week, as hundreds of researchers cloistered away in Yokohama, Japan, hammering out the final wording of a document that he called “alarmist” when it comes to the many threats of global warming. The people who grow our food will find ways to adapt, said the rogue climate scientist at the most important climate science meeting in seven years.
But change isn’t easy – especially not tectonic changes to the Earth. The final wording arrived today, and the IPCC report’s most alarming projections make clear what many other studies have warned: the future of agriculture – of global hunger, of your grocery bill – is screwed. Or as UN secretary general Ban-Ki Moon put it rather more politely when he inaugurated the first rounds of the IPCC report last September: “The heat is on. We must act.”
The only affect I have felt personally from this is the higher food prices. Farms around here are mostly Tobacco farms. Back home however is farm central. I’m talking family owned for generations farms, the small guys. The kind of people who have been feeding America since Europpeans landed on the shores of this land. I’dbe willing to bet they are feeling it.

our humans not part of the natural cycle on earth? we are not in a bubble seperated from the rest of nature, everything we do effects many things. to suggest humans cant effect the climate is in contempt of the facts. humans helped cause the dust bowl. the chinese have altered their weather by building the three gorges damn, they now have lake effect snow storms. gases can be measured, there IS empiracal data. we do know methane is generated from the cattle we produce. we know how much and where it goes and what it does. we KNOW how much coal we burn, we know how much oil we burn. it is as simple as 1+1. we know what we put into the system and we know the byproducts. we can measure them. and we know what they do. no humans are not the sole reason for any change but we do effect it along with volcanos,sun output and ocean temps. even beavers in an unchecked situation would eventually cause a climate to change. heres another proof, the urban heat islands that we have created all across the globe, these are surely effects humans have made. everything we do effects something, its a complicated web that has infinite variables

There is Man made warming and cooling…
And its a cycle that started progressively…
To note the cloud cover, now and when you was a kid, older folks, those lovely blue skies, ha! = progressive cooling, from progressive heating/ vaporisation, on an globalised industrial scale.
I live in South Lake Tahoe. The price of food up here is high just because everything has to be trucked in. A pound of bacon at the local supermarket is over $5.00/lb., close to $6.00. Fuel is not cheap either. Everything has gone up in price since the end of last summer. Quality unleaded is over $4.00/gal., while cheap gas is slightly less. Not seeing any food shortages up here though, at least not yet. As for global warming, it doesn’t take much to cause climatic changes but, it is sheer folly to believe that man has NOT impacted the world’s environments. One need only look at all the debris that is being seen in the ocean where they are looking for flight 370. One need only walk along the coastal shoreline anywhere in the world and you’ll see trash and stuff that man has discarded. There has been a tremendous amount of chemicals that have been used in the environment that has gotten into the air, the water, the soil, and the food, and into humans who’re at the top of the food chain. Many of the chemicals are known to cause all sorts of health problems. Then there’s the problem of radioactive materials getting into the environments as well which are known to cause cancers. To say that man has not polluted this world is to deny the facts. It makes no difference what “ism” you practice or preach, its a fact, and its having an effect on, and has been effecting, all of us! Its a fact that military scientists and technologists have been messing around with the ionosphere, heating it using broadcast frequencies in the millions of watts, some estimates are higher! Heating sections of the ionosphere, or weakening it, causing it to become thinner and thinner, which scientists have said is actually happening, could cause deadly solar radiation to break through and do immense damage, not to mention warming on a global scale. These technologies are the creation of men who think they can “be like God”, that they can do whatever they want, independent of the Authority of the Most High God. Thinking they are wise, they became fools!
