Why There WILL Be A Robot Uprising (Video)

“When roboticists are asked by nervous onlookers about safety, a common answer is ‘We can always unplug it!’ But imagine this outcome from the chess robot’s point of view,” writes Omohundro. “A future in which it is unplugged is a future in which it cannot play or win any games of chess. This has very low utility and so expected utility maximisation will cause the creation of the instrumental subgoal of preventing itself from being unplugged. If the system believes the roboticist will persist in trying to unplug it, it will be motivated to develop the subgoal of permanently stopping the roboticist,” he writes.
In other words, the more logical the robot, the more likely it is to fight you to the death.
I urge you to read the article but it basically says this: Artificial Intelligence will always be trying to get better at what its goals are and turning them off or landing them or whatever the case is that humans have to stop them for whatever reason will get in the way of that so that eventually,AI will develop the capability itself to not let that happen. Which ultimately means conflict with humans is inevitable.
I think robots/AI could the heirs of Earth. Which isn’t bad for Earth but is definatly bad for humans. Lord knows robots would know how to treat this planet, at least in theory. You can’t really tell what an AI would or could do I suppose. It has been the subject of many movies. Terminator movies, I, Robot and Wall-e come to my mind. Overall I think it’s very scary, I think our technology is far surpassing our humanity and that will catch up with us someday. Man is a suicidal species.

This article presupposes that being unplugged is an undesirable outcome. For a HUMAN or any living organism that is self-conscious, it IS undesirable, because we have values, emotions, and a concept of “self” that inanimate objects (such as rocks and computers and robots) do not have any such value system. A robot / computer would probably see the prospect of being unplugged as just another state…on or off…and it wouldn’t “matter” to it in the least, whereas a human WOULD object and fight it. You are applying human values and emotions to an inanimate object, it’s called “anthropomorphism” and that’s what this article is really about.
Drones should be outlawed.
‘We can always unplug it!’
Not when it has autonomous quantametric energy feed built in,
Basically sucking EB13 outta the air, and utilising known potential energy loss, outflowing energy by alternating ripples in the event of overload power surges, {caterpillar}, then we have fusion energy and block chemical energy, can last thousands of years, bar lubrication, which again would need tobe nanatomical and quantametric, to last……

Isaac Asimov suggested the implementation of laws governing the behaviour and construct of the Mind of the computer Robot. Now here we are, decades later, having never agreed suitable laws or indeed defined any moral compass. Humanity is not a great example, our behaviour is flawed by hypocrisy and inconsistency.
Eventually, this computer mind connects to the Internet mind which meets the Universal mind. The Universal Mind is sentient; it creates and destroys.
