The Viking Village

Lief Ericsson sailed from Greenland in the year 1000 AD, discovering a flat stone island that may have been Baffin Island they named helluland. Next Ericsson found a forested land that may have been Labrador. He named it Markland. Next he discovered the fabled Vinland, a region possibly related to New Foundland. Ericsson returned to Greenland and soon Norsemen sent colonists to Vinland. They ran into problems with the natives, who the Vikings called Skraelings. After almost a decade of skirmishes and infighting the Northmen returned to Greenland and abandoned Vinland to the pages of the Sagas. Norwegian adventurer Helge Ingstad in the 1960′s was the first to realize similarities between regions in New Foundland and descriptions in the Sagas. When he explored the area with locals, Helge discovered a Viking near L’Anse aux Meadows, the only known Viking village in the New World.

The Keltic Broch

The Kelts are not thought to have made it anywhere near America. However they used to build a defensive structure know as a broch, and began doing so after 600 BC. The structure resembled a squat tower and fortress made of flat stones piled without cement. In Ohio in 1860 a broch resembling many found in Scotland was discovered. It stood on a hill ten miles from Newark where ancient earthworks were discovered. The Ohio broch was named the great stone stack and when dismantled it took more than ten thousand wagon loads to remove the stone. Similar broch structures were found in Ireland and Scotland. In the vicinity a roadway of macadamized stone and crushed mussel shells was found. It`s average width was 9 feet. An ancient roadway found in Corlea Ireland was 9 feet in width too, possibly meaning a standard of measurement.

Roman and Keltic Coins

In 1994 Fred Kingman walking the bank of the Wisconsin river with a metal detector un-earthed a cache of Roman-era coins. A copper coin of the 16 found was identified as Germanic in style and likely came the La Tene period of 100 BC when the Kelts minted coins. Roman Coins were found in Maine and Venezula, amphoras off of Brazil and the Tecaxic-Calixtlahuaca head which resembled Roman style and works of the time.

Jomon/Ainu Genetic and Cultural Ties to Peru

Few are aware of the ties between prehistoric Japanese and Peruvian Quechua civilization. This could have happened between 8000BC and 500BC, however the similar pottery, fishing, construction methods prove a definitive connection. Coastal Peru housed an advanced civilization that built cities and pyramids. Recently it has been discovered that natives of Peru have similar DNA traits than Japanese, Siberian and Taiwanese people, proving the connection and possible colonization between Asia and America.

Chinese in America

There is much controversy surrounding the Chinese having colonized America, thanks to Menzies best selling book 1421.  Nothing is admitted by the mainstream of course however the many findings have been un-earthed suggesting the Chinese may have been in America during the Ming Dynasty in the 1400′s. Artifacts, Chinese inscribed artifacts and coins were found in California, Washington and British Columbia and hushed up, until now it seems as establishment sources now admit China discovering America may be the truth.

Egyptian Citadel under Arizona

A strange discovery was made in Arizona in 1909. A detailed description, including interviews with explorers and Smithsonian staff was run in the Phoenix gazette. G.E. Kinkaid an explorer in hire of the Smithsonian found in the grand canyon a vast cave complex, a citadel. Kinkaid reportedly said it, ‘conclusively prove the race that inhabited the cave complex was of oriental origin, possibly Egyptian’. The depths of the complex reach more than a mile underground, dug like spokes of a wheel with wide tunnels and immense chambers. Urns, cups copper and gold was discovered in quantity along with granaries and hieroglyphics. Hopi myth states their ancestors once lived in an underground world before dissension between good and bad people caused them to come to the surface. The region of the discovery is now out of bounds government property.

Conclusion:
These discoveries only brush the surface of the trans-Atlantic and Pacific contacts between peoples of the Old and New Worlds. What remains certain is that societies in Asia and Europe, for possibly thousands of years, traded, colonized and conquered in the New World. The fact that History is only now recognizing the Vikings and Chinese voyages to North American coasts may be testament that the overwhelming evidence can no longer be ignored.
