Gov. Bobby Jindal Named As Bourbon St. New Orleans Shoot-Out Suspect

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

“When the shots stopped, you just heard everybody crying and bawling,” said Ryan Phillips from Missouri, visiting New Orleans’ iconic Bourbon Street. “There were grown men crying.”

That was the scene Sunday in the French Quarter after two men with loaded guns, turned and opened fired at a crowd of patrons

The main suspect behind the 2:45 a.m. shootout has been identified: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, according to at least one news source.

Jindal, the “Million Dollar Oil Man”, a known patron of cheap hookers, not only has blood on his hands from BP’s Deepwater Horizon catastrophe (a crime against humanity that left people literally bleeding from all orifices along with other debilitating and terminal illnesses), and the historic 35-acre Bayou Corne Sinkhole disaster ready to explode any day. Now, he also has blood on his hands from his new law that resulted in Sunday morning’s shootout, where blood of ten innocent people, one in critical condition, stains the sidewalk.

As the Times Picayune reports: “The extent of the injuries sustained by the most severely injured patient remains unknown, but it took heroic efforts by a Ochsner Medical Center nurse, three young doctors and an experienced military combat medic to keep her alive until New Orleans EMS could transport her.”

All those good Samaritans just happened to be nearby when the shoot-out began, while Jindal was safe and sound.

“I know she was bleeding internally, because she had blood coming out of her mouth,” said the nurse who helped amid the chaos, who only wanted to be identified by his first name, David.

As David began briefing doctors and medic on the woman’s condition, she stopped breathing and her heart ceased to beat.

“We immediately began giving her CPR and one of the doctors … attempted to give her mouth-to-mouth,” David said. “But there was blood in her mouth, so it didn’t work.”

The makeshift medical team were frustrated that a nearby NOPD officer seemed indifferent to the victim’s condition and their pleas for him to locate a portable defibrillator, according to David.

“He was just standing there, as if the victim was dead,” David said. “But he could have easily been in shock, too. He’s human, as all of us are.”

After the Bourbon Street shootout this weekend, “police did not update the public on the number of wounded in the mass shooting for nearly 26 hours after his report,” the Times Picayune reported.

“No explanation was offered by the department or a City of New Orleans spokesman.”

They undoubtedly know, however, that the explanation lays squarely with the state’s governor. Less than two months ago, Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) celebrated a law allowing people to bring loaded guns into bars and restaurants that serve alcohol. Jindal said that was in keeping with American values.

“We’re not just signing a few bills — we’re also celebrating the Sportsman’s Paradise and American values.”

When did drinking alocohol in public with a loaded gun become an American value?

“Isn’t that lovely,” writes TeamSarah4ChoiceFollow for Daily Kos. ”Guns killed more people per capita in Louisiana than in any other state and in less than two months after Bobby Jindal signed a gun law allowing people to carry loaded weapons in bars: ‘gun fight’ breaks out on Bourbon Street – 9 shot, one in critical condition.”

According to the Times:

  • In March, a man shot himself in the foot in the Bourbon Heat nightclub after a security guard spotted a gun in his pocket and lost control of it in the ensuing scuffle.
  • On the Saturday before Mardi Gras 2013, gunfire erupted in the packed 400 block of Bourbon Street after three men started arguing, leaving two women and two men wounded in the ensuing mayhem.
  • Amid Halloween 2011 revelry on Bourbon Street, a 25-year-old man was killed and seven others injured, including a tourist from France, when men opened fire on one another, hitting others in a chaotic crossfire.

Louisiana Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne thinks mass shootings on Bourbon Street will not adversely affect tourism money:

Responding to the most recent mass shooting on Bourbon Street, Dardene said any violence, especially involving tourists, is concerning, adding, “I don’t believe this one incident will keep people from coming to the city of New Orleans.”

Dardenne said New Orleans’ worst crime areas were usually outside the French Quarter, but, “This is obviously a glaring exception.”

Exception? Not according to the facts.

Is the solution really another Stop and Frisk law, as recommended in the shootout aftermath, as Normon Robinson has suggested?

Meanwhile, Jindal expressed sympathy for his latest 10 shooting victims, but sidestepped Mayor Mitch Landrieu‘s request to permanently assign an additional 100 Louisiana State Police troopers to beef up law enforcement in New Orleans.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the senseless violence in New Orleans this past weekend and we pray for their speedy recovery,” Jindal said in his statement.

“New Orleans is one of the greatest cities in the world. We want to ensure New Orleans is the best place to live, visit, and raise a family.”

Jindal’s 350 energy refugees from Bayou Corne, tens of thousands of others suffering from the oil and Corexit concoction he’s defended amid BP’s Gulf catastrophe, others wounded and or killed from his drinking and  gun-toting law would certainly disagree with him.

The solution to more drinking with loaded guns? Intensify the police state with more troopers, according to the lastest official statements.

Some say Jindal belonged in jail before the most recent blood on his hands. Instead, he aspires to be president of the United States. Considering track records of the last couple of presidents, he’d carry forth their legacies well.

Guess this might get the patriots obsessing over gun grabbing going – but common sense needs to come into play here, friends.

By the way, did you know your probability of being murdered is 8 times greater in the US than in Mexico?

      • MJ

        Common sense:
Realizing that criminals are the killers. And, not punishing law abiders.
Of course, you wont get that because you’re a gasbag feminist.

We never had this gun control obsession during the Clinton or Bush years…You push it now because you know Obama is a Communist and you can.

        • Deborah Dupre

MJ – You say “Common sense:Realizing that criminals are the killers. And, not punishing law abiders.” So please answer, rather than digressing from this point, if it is common sense for Jindal to allow criminals or anyone else getting drunk in public places to carry loaded guns. Thank you.

There are no blacks in Mexico. They are at least 14 times more likely to commit murder than whites (even while have so many of the more criminal of them in prison already).

The FBI reports that there were 806,316 homicides in the US between 1965 and 2004, of which 588,611 were committed by blacks, of which 179,808 were Whites murdered by blacks. Of the 806,316 homicides, 322,526 were not cleared, only 483,790 were cleared, and of those 179,808 Whites murdered by blacks, 43,541 were cleared and 136,267 were not cleared. In just four decades, American blacks killed almost as many Whites as were killed in WWII, four times as many Whites as were killed in Vietnam, and 60 times as many Whites as died in 911 or Iraq.

When I say ‘blacks’ Dupre I, in practice, would actually be thinking of you as being the one commiting your causes murders.

        • Deborah Dupre

Mirabolin – Please tell us: Why do you capitalize “whites” and not “blacks.”?

      • zyklonb

Did you know the murder rate in America would be over 90% less if you don’t include Detroit, Chicago! or DC? What do these cities have in common? Draconian gun control laws!

    • PurplePeopleEater2014

Another crazy post by a source that leads to nothing.

      • Deborah Dupre

It led to your comment – that you apparently consider “nothing.”

    • tracehdridefree

      A gun grab article…stfu!!

      • Deborah Dupre

Trace – So you agree with the law allowing people drinking alcohol to carry loaded weapons into public places serving alcohol? Would you think the same if you were one of those injured, bleeding and crying on Bourbon Street?
