Russian Warplanes Violate US Airspace 16 Times Over Last 10 Days (Video)

Russian strategic nuclear bombers conducted at least 16 incursions into northwestern U.S. air defense identification zones over the past 10 days, an unusually sharp increase in aerial penetrations, according to U.S. defense officials.
 
The bomber flights took place mainly along the Alaskan air defense identification zone that covers the Aleutian Islands and the continental part of the state, and one incursion involved entry into Canada’s air defense zone, Smith said.
 
The Russian strategic aircraft included a mix of Tu-95 Bear H heavy bombers and Tu-142 Bear F maritime reconnaissance aircraft, she said, adding that one IL-20 intelligence collection aircraft was detected during the flight incursions over the past week to 10 days.
 
This is becoming very common place and troubling so.  This is happening not just in Europe but over our own airspace as well.  These are cold war tactics.  Testing strengths and so forth.

        How true George ..in Aug 2012 and in April of 2014 those Russian nuclear attack subs entered the Gulf of Mexico just 200 miles off of Macdill AFB out of Tampa..not to mention the Russian spy ships parked off the coast of Cuba …just 90 miles from the keys

      Need to make a technical distinction. The Russian aircraft did not violate U.S. airspace. That is the airspace that coincides with U.S. territorial boundaries, including up to 12 miles from shore. What the Russian aircraft apparently did was enter Air Defense Identification Zones (ADIZ), presumably without prior notification or contact with U.S. air traffic control. That’s a breech of courtesy but not international law. The U.S. doesn’t acknowledge Russia’s air defense perimeters, either.

      The USA and NATO (the USA IS NATO), have no business over there destabilizing the Ukraine anyway… Monger that this country now is… Infringing on the security of Russia just like Russia did in Cuba during Kennedys Presidency… THEN, the USA threatened Nuclear war over that… I haven’t heard Russia threaten the USA and Europe with Nukes.. So IF they are infringing on airspace that isn’t the USA’s anyway I say Good!! The USA and the corrupt rulers here can get their a$$e$ out of there and come home and protect this country from the southern invasion!!
