Smear Campaign to Change The Narrative
Michael Brown’s family on Friday released a statement of outrage at Ferguson police’s decision to ‘assassinate’ their son’s character and divert attention from the police killing an unarmed youth with a video of what appears to be both Brown and his friend in Quick Trip convenience store where he walked out with approximately $50.00 worth of cigars.
“Michael Brown’s family is beyond outraged at the devious way the police chief has chosen to disseminate piecemeal information in a manner intended to assassinate the character of their son, following such a brutal assassination of his person in broad daylight.
“There is nothing based on the facts that have been placed before us that can justify the execution style murder of their child by this police officer as he held his hands up, which is the universal sign of surrender.
“The prolonged release of the officer’s name and then the subsequent alleged information regarding a robbery is the reason why the family and the local community have such distrust for the local law enforcement agencies.
“It is no way transparent to release the still photographs alleged to be Michael Brown and refuse to release the photographs of the officer that executed him.

The Other ”Darren Wilson”
Darren Wilson, a six-year veteran of the Ferguson police force, has been identified Friday as the shooter of the youth Mike Brown. A St. Louis City sergeant, however, also named Darren Wilson, was quickly mistaken on news outlets including Before It’s News and social media sources to be the officer who shot Brown.
Fox News reports, “St. Louis City Sgt. Darren Wilson is president of the Ethical Society of Police and has been with the St. Louis Police Department since 1996. St. Louis City Police say public outcry over Brown’s death and the assumption that the city’s Darren Wilson was involved has promoted concern for their officer’s safety. St. Louis City’s Sgt. Wilson did respond to rumors that he was the officer involved.”
The Ethical Society President Darren Wilson posted onto his Facbeook Page Friday morning:
“Greetings community members of St. Louis, MO and all those across the nation. The Ethical Society of Police has been closely following the events surrounding the unfortunate police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO.
As a result of public outcry and a demand for justice, the Ferguson police officer’s name was released and happens to be, Darren Wilson.
The first thing we would like to assure the world is that this is a horrific coincidence.
May I assure the world that this is not the President of the Ethical Society of Police’s Sergeant Darren R. Wilson who is African-American, and happens to be an 18 year veteran of the St. Louis Police Department.
I’m sure additional clarification statements will be released immediately.
Thank you for your continued support.”
The police officer who shot young Michael Brown to death has been identified as Darren Wilson, a six-year veteran of the force, Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson said in a news conference Friday morning.
Wilson has no disciplinary record, according to Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson at a news conference Friday morning.
A police officer Darren Wilson is seen in the photo above as president of the Ethical Society of Police.
“Jackson provided few other details about Wilson at the news conference and did not take any questions. He said that Wilson had been involved in a sick call shortly before noon on Saturday when there was a 911 call from a nearby convenience store regarding a robbery,” reports the Washington Post.
A description of a possible suspect was given over the radio saying this person was walking toward the QuickTrip convenience store in Ferguson. Wilson left the call he had been responding to and encountered Brown on Canfield Drive at 12:01 p.m., Jackson stated.
Jackson did not explain whether Michael Brown matched the description of the suspect police were seeking. Nor did he elaborate on why Wilson and Brown crossed paths.
Within minutes, Brown had been shot and killed. Another officer had arrived on the scene and a supervisor was dispatched, Jackson said.
In 2013, members of the Ethical Society of Police packed the organization’s office for a special meeting convened to call black commanders to action in the wake of a racist letter sent to a black police officer, presumably by another officer in South Patrol, according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
“The group’s president, Sgt. Darren Wilson, said last week that the racist note was symptomatic of a larger, citywide problem. About a third of the 1,325-member police force is African-American; the city it serves is almost equally divided between black and white residents.”
Wilson then stated, “If you’re treating a police department employee like this, how are we treating our citizens?” Wilson asked.
He opened the meeting saying black leaders needed to do more to increase the number of black commanders on the force by reforming the promotional process.
The Saturday shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown led to violent clashes between police and protesters since Sunday when the police chief had blamed Brown for the officer shooting him.
Images of militarized police, tear gas, rubber bullet wounds and government intervention has provoked a national debate about race and justice reminiscent of civil rights battles half a century ago.
The KKK offered to raise money for the officer who shot Brown, as reported in the article, Ferguson: KKK Reward Money For ‘Hero’ Police Killer Of Unarmed Youth.
.It is unknown whether that offer still holds by the white supremist group.
