Article About German Scientists Proving Life After Death a HOAX!
This article has been making the rounds of the alternative media for the last week and I felt it was time to debuk it because I couldn’t take it any more:
http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/german-scientists-prove-there-is-life-after-death/
It is a blatant hoax obvious to anyone who spends the 2 minutes it took me to find this out. The first and obvious discrepancy is the fact that they’re reviving people after being clinically dead for 20 minutes. Mind you, clinical death= no heartbeat, no respiration, no brainwaves. After 3 minutes, there is irreversible ischemic injury to the brain, and while other tissues can be successfully reanimated up to 6 hours after the cessation of circulation, none of the organs above the heart can survive that long. A severed hand, for example, can be successfully reattached up to 6 hours after the fact.
The first thing I did was to look up “Dr Berthold Ackermann” and not surprisingly found nothing but links back to that above mentioned article, or a mutation thereof. I looked up Technische Universität Berlin, and while that does exist, there is no Dr Berthold Ackermann listed as being in any way affiliated with TU Berlin. Their site has an English version of it which you can check, but I checked the German version because usually English versions of non-English websites are notoriously incomplete and unreliable, and also I speak German.
I then did a reverse image search for the image in the article, and here it is:
http://i.cbc.ca/1.2743264.1408650502!/fileImage/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/16x9_620/ebola-virus-newser-emory-university-hospital.jpg
They cropped it so it wouldn’t show where it really came from. It’s a doctor talking about ebola at Emory University.
So now that I’ve proven this to be a hoax, what’s my point? Very simple: that just because something appears in the alternative media, and you desperately WANT to believe it doesn’t mean it is true. Specifically, this appeared as a link on a very well-known alternative news site, and I’m surprised he didn’t do any fact-checking before putting this up. Right after 911 the USA government, on one of their websites (forget which one) listed specifically that site as a “conspiracy theory,” misinformation website. I’m sure a lot of people reacted thinking “well, if the government says he’s a liar, then he must be for real.” Reverse psychology, save for the fact that although the governments of this world lie all the time, sometimes those lies are interspersed with the truth. They have to be, to make them believable to anyone with half a brain. And just because you’re intelligent and informed, as I’m sure most of the readers of this website are, doesn’t make you immune to media manipulation. In fact, intelligent people are a lot more susceptible to manipulation via propaganda and brainwashing than others. Look it up.
If your mind is already made up, and you are 100% certain of something that can’t be proven via objective and empirical demonstration, then you have already been brainwashed.
It wasn’t that long ago that people were 100% certain that the earth was flat, that tomatoes were poisonous, that the sun revolved around the sun, and so on. How many of today’s facts will be looked upon in the future as having been false? Sometimes it’s not even a dichotomy, but a relative truth. If you tell me it’s 6am in New York, well, I can prove it’s 12 noon by me. And we’d both be right!
Please keep in mind that I do believe in Life after Death, but it’s articles like the one I mentioned that actually serve to discredit this as a legitimate field of study, because once the public finds out, they think all articles written on the subject are hoaxes, and that just isn’t the case.
