Band Bills US Military $666,000 for Torture Music

Vancouver’s industrial rock band, Skinny Puppy, recently discovered their tunes were back ground noise to America’s torture program and they’ve sent an invoice to the United States military seeking $666,000. for their music services.

Will they go so far as to sue the U.S. Department of Defense for using its material illegally without permission. Maybe.

In a statement to CTV News, keyboardist for the band, Cevin Key said,

“We sent them [the U.S. Military] an invoice for our musical services considering they had gone ahead and used our music without our knowledge and used it as an actual weapon against somebody,” Key told CTV’s Kevin Newman Live.

And Key said band members were “offended” to learn that their music was played in the notorious prison to “inflict damage” on detainees.

The band discovered the military’s use of their tunes after a Gitmo guard — who happened to be a fan of Skinny Puppy music, notified the band.
