I checked out Surah 47.4 and found the following translation:
” So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. So this is not about beheadings, since the smitten can be either set free or ransomed UNTIL THE WAR TERMINATES. These are instructions on how to treat combatants in war, and it specifically highlights that they are smitten until subdued and then may be “set free as a favor” or ransomed until the war ends.
