They have been put on a higher alert as of a little while ago.
Sorry, I can not confirm this with links as of now.
I’ll update if I hear anything else.“
Minot Air Force Base is home to the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing, both of the Global Strike Command. The 5th operates B-52 bombers and the 91st operates 3 Minuteman lll nuclear missile silos.

As a retired U.S. Marine, let’s start with a little advice – ANYONE can see if a base is ‘ON HIGH ALERT’. At high alert, the entry gates are closed. All off-base personnel are ordered into the base. All leaves are canceled with immediate recalls activated. Armor is normally stationed at the front gates, and no Wacky-hut security, real military personnel with armed automatic weapons are inside the perimeter to guard it.
We locked down KMCAS in 1991 when locals said they were soverign and going to retake the property. APC’s with .50 cals, closed gates, and live fire from 3rd Marines said ‘no, you are not’.
I’ve been through two ‘high alert’ base lock-downs. Might as well be at war, and under seige. You can tell it from 2-miles away in town, if it does happen. So, since the base is out on N-83, maybe 10-miles north of Minot (the town), someone simply call Minot, ND Pizza Hut and validate the base locked down. THEY ARE ALWAYS the first to know.
