Planetary Alignment To Cause 9.8 Earthquake Prediction For California On May 28th, 2015?

By now, many of you have heard about the 9.8 Magnitude earthquake prediction for May 28th, 2015 in California, due to a planetary alignment of Venus and Mercury. Some people are making references to Nostradamus, who spoke of some coincidental references to this rumored event in one of his quatrains.

The above video has gone viral on YouTube and was published by Ditrianum Media, where he states:

On May 28, 2015 towards the end of the day UTC time, and continuing on May 29, there will be a series of very critical planetary alignments whereby Venus and Mercury are really being charged up on the North-Amerca / Pacific side.

Coincidentally, a mysterious quatrain by Nostradamus precisely fits the planetary positions on that day:

Original French version:

Le tremblement si fort au mois de may,
Saturne, Caper, Jupiter, Mercure au boeuf:
Venus aussi, Cancer, Mars, en Nonnay,
Tombera gresle lors plus grosse qu’vn oeuf.

English translation:

The trembling so hard in the month of may,
Saturn, Capricorn, Jupiter, Mercury in Taurus:
Venus also, Cancer, Mars, in Virgo,
Hail will fall larger than an egg.

With the very first three points of interest, Saturn, Capricorn and Jupiter, Nostradamus describes exactly the position of Earth during May 2015. Just watch the video for an in-depth analysis.

A contrary view is provided by Phil Plait on his website, stating that this event will not occur.

There is simply no way an alignment of planets can cause an earthquake on Earth. It’s literally impossible. I’ve done the math on this before; the maximum combined gravity of all the planets under ideal conditions is still far less than the gravitational influence of the Moon on the Earth, and the Moon at very best has an extremely weak influence on earthquakes.

To put a number on it, because the Moon is so close to us its gravitational pull is 50 times stronger than all the planets in the solar system combined. Remember too that the Moon orbits the Earth on an ellipse, so it gets closer and farther from us every two weeks. The change in its gravity over that time is still more than all the planets combined, yet we don’t see catastrophic earthquakes twice a month, let alone aligning with the Moon’s phases or physical location in its orbit.

In this writer’s opinion, the sun has more of an impact on earthquakes than planetary alignments or supermoons. Like many predictions in the past, this too shall pass… or should I say fail?

There’s a saying, “Energy goes where attention flows”. Through quantum physics, we learned through the double slit experiment that focused attention affects reality:

So, one must be cognizant where he or she is placing their thoughts, as thoughts create reality.

Even the last page of the Lost Book of Nostradamus is blank, suggesting that we create our own reality.

While it’s entirely possible that anything can feasibly happen on any given day or date, the likelihood of a 9.8 earthquake happening on May 28th, 2015 is extremely low. To me, this is more along the lines of fear mongering or was designed in the style of “smoke and mirrors” to distract us from something else that is going on behind the scenes that is much more important.
