Despite the mainstream financial pundits overly gleeful attitude after just the last two up days in this market, (and as of this writing the DOW is down triple digits), stocks continue to remain under pressure. *Stocks did finish at the flatline.
In my last article titled “The Stock Market Crash Of ’15 Has Already Begun, And It’s About To Get Much Worse,” I went over a series of technical events which have already occurred and how a third death cross is imminent barring some major event. The significance of the previous two technical events pressuring this market should not be underestimated. Moreover, with all the talk about whether the Fed. Will or will not raise interest rates, I do not think it matters either way.
If the Fed. Decides not to raise rates, that will be a signal to the market that the economy IS NOT really “recovering,” and CANNOT handle a rate hike. Not raising rates has the potential to push stocks lower. On the other hand if the Fed. Decides to raise rates, the very mechanism which has been propping up this market will be seen as “going away,” and this will push stocks lower as well.
This fact remains: the US stock market is negative for the year, and in my opinion at a minimum has entered a sustained downward trajectory. Further, with this third death cross about to occur-a major downward move in the value of stocks is highly likely. Read More
