North Korea has doubled its artillery power, the majority of its submarines seem to be away from their bases &  unusual movement of troops have been detected a South Korean military official said, as cited by the Yonhap news agency. The announcement comes amid ongoing talks between the two sides over the border crisis, while in the same region of the world we have the Russian & Chinese navies out “war gaming” at this time of heightened tensions.

Top level officials from South Korea have been meeting North Korean officials at Panmunjom Truce village in a bid to calm the situation. This comes amidst a backdrop of artillery exchanges and psychological warfare between the two old enemies.

The bluster from the North is nothing new but this time something seems different, and i hope i am wrong!

Today we are being told that there are “a million North Korean volunteer” to fight. Sounds pretty much like the usual craziness we hear from the N.Korean state media, but at the same time, if Kim Jong Un ordered one million of the people to fight, would they really be able to say no? Remember the scenes coming out of the North when Kim John Il died? The crowds of people crying by the million? Well if thats not mind control i do not know!

These talks that are taking place after the South accused the North of placing land mines in the DMZ that led to two Korean soldiers losing limbs. In retaliation the South started to use the psychological warfare tactic of blasting anti-Pyongyang propaganda across the DMZ into the North. In recent days there was even an exchange of artillery fire between the North & South that led to Kim John Un putting his military on full preparedness for war and gave the South a Saturday deadline to stop the psychologic warfare. The talks have been taking place ever since the deadline passed and continue as we speak.

COULD THIS LEAD TO SOME BIGGER REGIONAL CONFLICT?

In recent days the US have cancelled military drills with the south due to this current crisis, while at the same time, we have Russian & Chinese navies setting sail not a million miles from the Korean Peninsula.

South Korea are allied with the US and any attack on Seoul would be deemed an attack on both nations, while the government in Pyongyang answer to their allies in Beijing, so if anything does happen it will not be without the say so of the two superpowers.

Dont forget the Chinese recently started the construction of artificial islands in the region. Just what are these being rapidly built for? The Guardian reported back in June…

China is pressing ahead with the construction of artificial islands on at least two reefs also claimed by the Philippines in an increasingly tense territorial dispute, Filipino officials said, despite Beijing’s pronouncement that some work would end soon.

Mayor Eugenio Bito-onon of Kalayaan Islands, which are under Philippine control, said on Friday he saw Chinese construction in full swing with many dredgers and huge cranes visible when he flew last week near Subi Reef.

It’s one of at least seven reefs and atolls in the South China Sea where the US and the Philippines have expressed concern China’s island-building could be used to base military planes and navy ships to intimidate other claimants, reinforce China’s claim over virtually the entire area and threaten freedom of navigation in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

With over 50 N.Korean subs in the area, and the US subs that will undoubtedly be there too, this really does give us a small region and alot of firepower, a hell of a lot of firepower!

I keep going back to the fact that China devalued the Yuan, and I honestly feel it is that reason that this current crisis is different that any from before.

The day after the Beijing government made the devaluation move we seen the massive explosion at Tianjin, with some, myself included, speculating the explosion was an attack by the western cabal from one of their many black project “exotic weapons”. The Chinese government didnt help to kill this speculation by refusing to release much information on the explosion while at the same time rounding up bloggers and conspiracy theorists for daring to suggest it was something other than an accident.

Then yesterday there was another explosion at a chemical warehouse in the Shandong province of China, again, not much information being released by the authorities.

Now if this was some kind of attack, and the Chinese know about it, we might expect to see similar asymetric attacks on US installations, and that may well have happened earlier today when there was an incident at a US base in Kanagawa, Japan. Several explosions could be heard on video that was captured of the incident and this was put down to munitions exploding in the fire. There are no reports of any injuries or fatalities in this latest incident thankfully.

Admittedly all of  the explosions, in China & Japan, could very well be exactly what we are told they are, nothing more than accidents, but we have to question everything. When i start to see events piling up I tend to rule out mere random chance or coincidence. Only time will tell if this is the start of something bigger, so watch this space.
